The Dell G2724D is decent for console gaming. Although it lacks HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and can't take full advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, it still supports most signals with both consoles, including VRR which reduces screen tearing. It has low input lag that makes gaming feel responsive, and motion looks sharp thanks to its fast response time, but there's still some motion blur. Unfortunately, games don't look life-like and realistic as the monitor has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks look gray, and colors aren't vivid, especially in HDR.

The AOC Q27G3XMN is decent for console gaming. Although it can't take full advantage of the Xbox Series X|S or the PS5 due to its 1440p resolution and lack of HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, it still provides a great gaming experience. It has a fast response time and low input lag at 120Hz and 60Hz, providing a smooth feel. It also offers good picture quality whether you're gaming in HDR or SDR, thanks to its high contrast for deep blacks, and it gets bright enough to fight glare in well-lit rooms.

I've never had a monitor with VRR before. Did some basic brightness/contrast calibration, anything more than that is beyond me. Set color mode to sRGB, and response time to Extreme. Toggled off pretty much all other "gamer" settings.
I'm replacing a 10 year old Ultrasharp that had dimmed a lot. I still have an identical Ultrasharp that's about 7 years old, and doesn't seem affected in the same way. But those monitors are only 60hz.
I'd say the Ultrasharps have whiter whites, and blacker blacks, but for $135 with tax if you stack that Dell newsletter discount, I'm satisfied.
I can see why some folks might prefer Mini LED, OLED, or a higher end IPS. But at this price range... I think it's got perfectly reasonable compromises. And I'd be spending quite a bit more for the next step up. I'm just going to be using it for SDR, and if OLEDs or Mini LEDs become more affordable, I'll consider replacing my other Ultrasharp if it starts to dim too or dies.
I don't see any signs it's used/a returned product, either.
Specs are identical at same price $150 except 25D has +15hz and one fewer DP Input Connector. The 25D's stand is "worse," but budget monitor stands are already terrible.
tl;dr: 25D seems like more refresh at same price.
edit: for 25D version, not good when Rtings.com can't even get a test monitor to work!

edit #2: Got G2725D. Ran all of the tests. Didn't have any of the reported issues others have said about G24D or 25D. Getting 180 Hz and maxing FPS.
