"The Hisense U8/U8K and TCL QM8/QM851G QLED are evenly matched, with only small differences. The TCL is a bit brighter in HDR and SDR, but the Hisense is more accurate in HDR and SDR. The TCL has slightly better image processing. Gamers might prefer the TCL, which has a noticeably faster response time than the Hisense. Ultimately, the Hisense is the better choice if you care about image accuracy. Otherwise, the TCL offers a slightly brighter image."
100 inch is bigger than 98 inch by about size of 20 inch screen.
Both are great TVs for the price. But for 2600$ U8K was a better deal IMO

Depends how their factory is setup. Making glass of 115" size is probably is done by one machine vs like 20 machines that produce 98". Once they will upgrade to more machines, prices will go down.
WM $139 5 year coverage sounds pretty good if you don't need install.
EDIT: an hour after this post and WM has raised back to 3999 and Walt's through WM has 2 left at the sale price. Same Qty at Walt's @ amazon. Amazon itself has 12 left and has been on a consistent counter 16 down to 8 since last night.
Watched these too long this time. Was settled on the Hisense picture wise over this one, but rtings really under announced the buggy issues on the Hisense like having to reboot or randomly turning on at night, which I now consider heavier than the panel lottery we will all play with these.
And are we SDer's the only ones buying this one? Amazon had it at only 50+ sold this month until yesterday. . .
People get different things out of experiences. Which is why I usually have to turn off all motion smoothing on any TV, I instantly know it and it drives me crazy. My wife thinks I'm crazy for having that response since it just doesn't bother her, she doesn't even notice it.
For most people I think the PQ improvement of OLED over these well performing LCDs is just not important for most people. So get what you want and enjoy it, right. A lot of people I think will enjoy the extra brightness more than blooming issues they almost never (or never) notice, etc. That's just me though.

A few questions to my more experienced SD'ers:
Any thoughts if we should expect better deals by then?
Also, I assume I will have 15 days FROM DELIVERY BY BB to return, correct?
A day before this price drop I bought from best buy for $4k with free install. Price adjusted it to $3k and even happier now.
Personally I'd take it over a 100 U8k at $2600. That extra brightness really hits for me. At $4k I would've ordered the 98" Hisense 98ux at the black Friday $4500 if it ever got in stock. That's the more comparable model. Though at $3k I think the QM8 can't be beat.
Though to be clear IMHO all these tvs are great choices for their own reasons. Make your pick and just enjoy them.
