So personally if I were still using APSC I'd just stick to an F4 zoom and get a couple fast primes (which I had to with F2.8 anyways) for nights/indoors. Zooms on APSC can be tough because of this.
I always thought it was weird calling a lense fast when the shutter mechanism is in the camera body, and nothing about the lens is directly measured in speed. But that equivalence (2 dimensions of the exposure triangle) does dominate when you are trying to freeze motion, if all other things (depth of field and ISO/graininess) are held constant.
i went from xt2 to xt5. taking photos of my kids is my primary use. i didn't find it was worth the upgrade. autofocus is much better, about 1.5stops better low light, higher res is good and bad - good because more space for crops/rotation, bad because larger files.
obviously, there are several other upgrades, but these are the main features that affect my amateur needs

I think I prefer the 18-55 on size alone, and while I thought I might want the extra wide and zoom ends it made my xt5 big enough that I barely want to use it.
Small and compact is life if it'll get you to use it

So seems like no returns, but a 90 day warranty
