Is this a better buy than a Steam Deck at this price?
its definitely faster with a bigger and sharper screen and has windows so you can play more games, but its heavier and has windows so you have to deal with updates and bugs. if you have more games on steam and want more portability, i would stick with a steam deck. i'm waiting for the refurbished models to come back in stock. i do not like windows imho

As another oled steam deck owner, I would say it depends on your use case, if you are going to mostly be around your home playing this, it could be better since it does have a bigger screen and is more powerful. I would have ended up with a GO if they had been oled screens, but I really do love my deck.
Also know, they are making a sequel (Legion Go 2) which will be faster and have (i beleive) an OLED screen, but it will also be twice the price of this.
I recently bought a second oled refurb deck as a gift, and it came looking brand new (the only way you knew was that it had "refurbished" on the packaging.) That ran for 419 before tax, so if you dont do this deal, I would wait for those to come back in stock (they sold out in a few days - sold through steam directly).

Even if you don't really want a portable console you can just take out the tablet portion and use it as a mini PC
