Apparently it's possible to increase brightness to 1000 nits with software, it was software limited to 600 for battery life. The apps are called Vivid or BetterDisplay

Local costco showed a bunch in stock in the app last night, but none this morning. Price matched to BB on the first try. Ended up using a $1200 gift card I received yesterday from a geek squad claim on our TV. Upgrading from a M1 Air 8gb/256gb.

I think so. 8GB memory is pretty limited for future proofing considering Apple is now offering 16gb across the board for a reason. It wouldn't surprise me if they will limit features for machine with less than that in the future.

Extremely good deal to be honest. MacBook Pro with a pro (not base) chip never get this low brand new.

My local Costco only had 1 in stock. Snatched it up asap. Limit 2 per account for those who want to flip these.
