Apparently it's possible to increase brightness to 1000 nits with software, it was software limited to 600 for battery life. The apps are called Vivid or BetterDisplay

Local costco showed a bunch in stock in the app last night, but none this morning. Price matched to BB on the first try. Ended up using a $1200 gift card I received yesterday from a geek squad claim on our TV. Upgrading from a M1 Air 8gb/256gb.

I did see a couple on Ebay at that price or even for about the same price as this computer but they are used, older battery, older chipset, less battery efficient, likely keyboard marks on the display, only a single year warranty.

You can give any random zip. Napa,ca shows out of stock but available for instacart same day delivery . First bb rep didn't honor it but second guy did no questions asked. Ymmv

Thanks for the ideas. I found one costco store that have in-store laptop available for pickup, but delivery was showing out of stock and BB rep said that he cannot confirm in stock on their end. Any suggestions?
