Most people want to get these, add a keyboard and trackpad, where they could've just gotten a MacBook Air which is infinitely better. Only reason you should get this if you absolutely need touch.

It's infinitely easier to use an iPad with Magic Keyboard in bed or laying on the couch than a MacBook. Also, for travel, you're forced to hotspot on MacBooks and you don't get native streaming apps besides Prime Video so you can't download shows without pirating.

It's not necessarily the only reason. It's also the only screen of that size that my motion sick self can use in cars thanks to the new iOS 18 motion sickness dots. There's no equivalent Mac feature except a subscription based app that requires a companion iPhone to be "at the same angle" as the Mac screen which is very impractical in a car.
