So unless you use your Duracell batteries very quickly, I wouldn't bother.

Your comment thereafter (quoted above), however, is misplaced. Some of us simply forgot, some know that store policies change all the time - which this one may have, some are simply too new (to either Staples or SD) to know (and thus their concern about Staples being overpriced is entirely legitimate - because they certainly are).
Its entirely possible that you simply don't give a rats ass and if that's the case I'll be sorry I've wasted my time and yours. That said, one never knows what fruit a few words might bring, so on the off chance that putting a bug in your ear might help, here it is.
Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to You and Yours.

My original reply was to this comment: Quote from Lilyly :
what are you going to use their rewards on their overpriced items?
Now, to your point, this doesn't sound like someone who simply forgot, or is 'new' but has a set opinion that Staples is overpriced and for that reason, why get these batteries.
Again, my reply was specific to THIS POSTER, not you or anyone else, so I'm somewhat at a loss why you're taking it personally when it was never directed at you.
as for overpriced, many stores are overpriced, but as we know on SD, there's much more to a shelf price than meets the eye when there is price matching, various discount codes readily available, etc.
Example"
Staples often has Energizer Lithiums in store that tend to run $2 - $3 each every where else.
Here is the listing for Staples' offering
https://www.staples.com/energizer...t_2
So if you could find these in the store (which you probably won't) you woild price match the Office Depot offer of $50 for 24 of them
https://www.officedepot
You wait about 10 minutes until your rewards show up in the app and then walk back in to do it again but this time with all rewards, no further cash outlay (except tax), and now you've just gotten 48 Energizer Lithium batteries for $50.
You could really slam them even more on the buy side if you have spend a $10 off $30 coupon to spend along with your rewards points (maybe, not sure, but why not do it if you're there anyway).
I'm not saying that you need 48 Engergizer Lithium batteries or would actually find these in the store, but this is the kind of thinking that you can use to squeeze a pretty fair deal out of a store that does tend to overcharge more than most.
I know this because it's what I did back in October when Energizers in specific were offered this way
https://slickdeals.net/f/17845977-at-staples-in-store-on-all-batteries-100-back-in-rewards-starts-from-10-27-11-2
and they had all kinds of 4-packs and 8 packs available in the store, which I picked up for about the same price (about $1 each for Lithiums) using the same price-match-and-rebuy-a-second-time-with-points method..
I hope this helps, and
I wish you and yours well this holiday season.
So my question is, will store scan it after 12/31/2024, or ymmv stuff?

Clearance is ymmv. I recently got a 512gb portable SSD for $15. And a few switch games (Odyssey , skyward sword) for $20.
Note, if you your battery purchase included $20 worth of Energizer, you can get an additional $5 back here: http://www.EnergizerHo
