Just realized, they are giving $400 more for Space Black vs the Silver.
Silver: $800

So I bought the M3 Pro deal yesterday, Best Buy price matched the $1,250 Costco price. At a $500 discount versus the previous best M4 Pro price, that was a great deal. Now Best Buy has the M4 Pro at $1700 - and for $1,623 for Excellent Open Box in Silver (my preferred color anyway).Paypal has 5% reward on Best Buy right now, which nets another $81 back. Effectively $1,542.The decision between the two is much tougher at $290 difference than when it was $500 difference. The M4 Pro is 24GB RAM vs. 18GB. Single core speeds are 20% faster, the battery efficiency is better, and the screen is brighter. I think I'm going to end up with the M4 Pro open box, $1,622 less any reward is an incredible price.
OK, help out the old guy, please. When I log into my Paypal account on the laptop, I show "1 Coupon Available" when searching for Best Buy. How are you still seeing 5% back? Is that using their debit card?

Bought @amazon when it was 1750. Any chance they will do a price adjustment?

They will probably do a 25 promo credit only. If you used prime credit card and count 7% cashback when it was 1750. That seems to compensate it.

While logged into PayPal, click "Rewards" at the top. The, in the middle of the page look for "Popular on PayPal" and click "see more" on the right.
or, just go to PayPal .com / offers
search for Best Buy, should show 5% back, add the offer by clicking the plus sign.

From there, hit Shop, buy the laptop on Best Buy's site and at checking pay with PayPal. if you have a rewards credit card make sure the card you want to use is registered in the PayPal wallet first.

If you do not see the 5% back offer it could be account specific, I had it but it does not mean that everyone will. YMMV.

Now I'm torn. Keep the Costco deal for the 2023 MacBook Pro 14" M3 Pro for $1249 or buy this 2024 MacBook Pro 14" M4 Pro $1699. All the reviews say the upgrade is noticeable in performance and features.
Damn it Slickdeals!!!!!
Keep the Costco one. That's a helluva deal for the price. Like someone else mentioned m4 pro not worth the upgrade if you don't need it.

Given the 6GB extra RAM and the use case, it may be worth something to future proof. I tend to upgrade every 4-6 years, and given the deals, I'd not keep the M3 pro. I bought the same at $1499 returned it (un opened at Costco,
Knowing the m4 rumors). Personally, my answer is the same even at $1250. $1699 (15% off) is unprecedented for a 2 months old M4 pro.

Some on here hunt for deals on MacBooks, but buy 1500 iPhones at full price.

Got this deal yesterday and currently typing on this very machine. What a fast beautiful machine.

I run a lot of programs and I was running into "Memory" issues with the last one I had (m3 Pro 18GB) that I got earlier this year for $1499.

Like everyone on here said - really look at your use case. For me who runs heavy Adobe, Microsoft and Figma this made sense to me but for others they might not notice the difference.

Still shows $1,200 for the M3 pro for me.
The 18gb m3 pros are higher tier processors. That's why you got more. The others probably have m3 with 16gb.

This has been at a consistent sale price of 1749. This is really 50 off. The lost price of 1999 hasn't been true for a while. Not sure why we need to go crazy over this.

Agree that this is a great spec for the money. But a little short of slickdeal.

That's crazy they are only paying $800 for silver vs $1200 for black. I wanted to jump on this and get a silver M4 Pro but now I am having second thoughts on the color.
Oh, I was planing to trade in my silver 14" M1 Pro for $550.

Currently have an M2 pro 512/16. Heavy Lightroom user. Now that Adobe is introducing more and more AI functionality into LR, noticing my M2 is no longer fast enough for my liking (actually slow at times, especially with multiple masks applied to photos).

Apple edu will give 10% off their current price (that's what they do to "price match" a competitor). Currently $1849 on the edu site. With 10%, brings it to 1664. They're offering $870 for my M2 trade in.

~$800 for the upgrade. Any idea if I'll see noticeable speed improvements in LR?

How do you get the 10% off on top of the lower price of $1849 on Apple's Edu site? I went through the buy process and $1849 is all I get. Do you need to call them and ask for price match?

Edit: I called Apple and they offered me 10% off on top of 1849 price but would not allow you to trade in and get the 10% off together. Either trade in or 10% off not both. Weird.

Thank you for your reply. I was doing all that, and BB is not in my list of stores. I must be on the wrong side of the target audience for some reason. Thanks again.
