How do you get the 10% off on top of the lower price of $1849 on Apple's Edu site? I went through the buy process and $1849 is all I get. Do you need to call them and ask for price match?

Edit: I called Apple and they offered me 10% off on top of 1849 price but would not allow you to trade in and get the 10% off together. Either trade in or 10% off not both. Weird.
Just seems silly to me! I mean, they let you trade in your old computer for a gift card. Do they not let you pay with a gift card when they price match, either? 🤔 Not doubting your answer, just haven't tried to do a trade in and price match in the same transaction.

Good point. I called 3 times and spoke with different reps. They would not stack 10%, Edu price of 1849 and trade in. They were willing to do 10% off 1999 and trade in though.

My understanding is Apple will price match but will not discount any product more than 10%. The education price is $1849, which is 7.5% off. Any price match would not exceed 10% off the regular $1,999 price, so the lowest Apple will sell it for is $1,799, regardless of education pricing qualification. If someone has gotten up to 10% off the education price it may have been an isolated event or a mistake, but I have not heard it happening. Would be happy if someone reports differently.

That's crazy they are only paying $800 for silver vs $1200 for black. I wanted to jump on this and get a silver M4 Pro but now I am having second thoughts on the color.
Oh, I was planing to trade in my silver 14" M1 Pro for $550.
Went to pick up this morning, the guy said he already received 3 trade ins with M3 pros. Seems everyone is upgrading. lol

I've just bought it recently on Amazon recently for $1749. Should I ask them to match the price?

Based upon Amazon's no price match policy, I was not expecting them to do it, but they did it for me for the MBP M$ Pro that I purchased just over 1 month ago, so give it a try...

I bought this for $1749 back in November at Best Buy and I was able to get them to price match this for me doing the online chat.
Same.

The nano-texture on the macbook pro is slightly different than the one on the ipads I think. it is a preference thing but I have seen many people raving about it online. I also went to the apple store and saw it in person and liked it. It cuts down reflections and glare a lot, and I didn't notice any issues with colors, videos, reading text, etc. It looked great to me.
I would like to be able to use my laptop outside on my deck so that's why I'm interested.
Again, it's a preference thing. Some people will prefer the glossy panel, but I'd like the nano-texture for the improved usability.
I am even willing to pay the extra $150 for it, but in reality I'd be paying like $250-400 extra for it because I'd miss out on the discounts or open box options at retailers. If I can't get the nano texture, I'd be fine getting a deal like the costco M3 Pro one and save even more.
It actually adds "grain", you might want to see it in person first. I checked it out in Apple store and didn't like it.

Question: I have an op to buy a new Macbook, pro or air, for 25% off from Apple. Is that a good deal or are there better deals through third parties? I would be switching from laptops to apples Macbook (just fyi). I don't typically look for deals since work provided me with new laptops every few years and that's not happening anymore.

Thanks in advance.

This has been at a consistent sale price of 1749. This is really 50 off. The lost price of 1999 hasn't been true for a while. Not sure why we need to go crazy over this.

Agree that this is a great spec for the money. But a little short of slickdeal.
You don't get 15% off a 2 month old Mac that's a pro. This is unprecedented even to begin with starting Black Friday deals of $1749. M4 pros were about 1 month old back then. This is why it's a slick deal because the sales are in the dump and Apple is allowing discounts.

Never has this happened for a brand new series of MacBook Pro launches, Mac minis and others in the last several years.

Got this deal yesterday and currently typing on this very machine. What a fast beautiful machine.

I run a lot of programs and I was running into "Memory" issues with the last one I had (m3 Pro 18GB) that I got earlier this year for $1499.

Like everyone on here said - really look at your use case. For me who runs heavy Adobe, Microsoft and Figma this made sense to me but for others they might not notice the difference.
I have this and I've been monitoring activity monitor. I haven't used more than 20gb of memory yet, and I notice a difference compared to m3 pro with 18gb.

Bought @amazon when it was 1750. Any chance they will do a price adjustment?
They only gave me a $10 credit back in my amazon wallet.

Just realized, they are giving $400 more for Space Black vs the Silver.
Silver: $800
Space Black: $1200
Same configuration. Crazy.
I'm seeing $1135 for my Space Black trade-in... I also have a $200 gift card I received during the Pixel Pro promo so I'm debating if the $500ish out of pocket is worth for a 6GB/400nit brightness/newer CPU is worth it.

Hmm decisions

I literally said in my post you quoted that I went to the Apple store to see it in person and I liked it.
There was no "grain" to my eyes.
