There is a bit of confusion in this thread. Ryobi makes a 18V 320 PSI and a 18V 600PSI and a 40V 600PSI. The 18V 320 PSI really isnt that much better than a hose. You should skip it. The 18V 600 PSI version is the one to get if you want a portable pressure washer for light work, washing cars, furniture, windows, etc... The 40V 600 PSI has exactly the same output as the 18V 600PSI but is heavier and bulkier and is less efficient electrically.

It's a bit better than a garden hose- higher pressure and uses less water. I've used it for clearing gravel and topsoil out of a truck bed, washing windows screens/mesh filters, and caked mud off vehicles. I wouldn't recommend it for cleaning walkways/patios, fences, siding, or a foam cannon.

If you have access to a garden hose with a decent spray head don't even bother honestly.

How long does one 18v 4A battery last for 600psi? I need it to wash a small SUV.
It chews through those batteries. I would estimate 10-15 minutes at the mid setting. If you buy that you're going to want to jump on some of Ryobi's 18v battery deals. I always had at least 3 in rotation when using the 18v 600 psi model.

But what you should actually buy instead is the corded 1900 psi pressure washer. Waaaay better and comes with a soap head IIRC. Honestly, it cleans stuff properly and is small and easy to store. You are wasting time and money with the handheld unit unless you specifically need something portable.

I got the 600 version bc it was $50. Came with a battery and charger so I figured it was cheap enough.
Deal still alive for this? If so link please? Thanks!

I have the 18v of this (the 320psi in this deal) and the 40v version (600 psi) and invested in both systems. This is one of those where the 40v truly outshines in every way. I can't think of a reason to grab the 18v anymore.

This is a good deal if you can't/don't want the 40v.
They also have the 600psi 18v

Isn't 1900psi too strong for a car? I can't have corded. No access to outlet.

Will this be powerful enough to clean solar panels?
I have 3 properties with solar panels. It is a compromise but i find that the electric pw is best for that purpose in terms of power and weight to get it on the roof. Btw I have flat 1-story roofs in SoCal. My small office bldg has 56 panels and a rental has 24 panels fyi. Good thing that all of my places have nearby plugs. Being flat roofs for 2 places, I can stand up safely and scrub the really dirty panels with an extended double-sided window squegee and a bucket of solar cleaner. I haven't tried my 2-story house with sloped roof yet. Haven't figured out a way to safely do it. Not worth the risk since so many accidents. Just pray for rain. Lol

This 300psi is NOT powerful enough. Not even close. Last resort is a garden hose with that turbo wash wand for $20. A slight improvement over a bare hose.

FYI: I would get a detachable shutoff valve for the end of your water hose so you don't have to go up n down each time to turn on/off the water.

The application for this is camping. Cleaning off mountain bikes. Spraying down muddy boots. Washing off sand. This is what these types of tools excel at.

Grabbed this at my local store. But I had to ask a very helpful guy to get it from upstock. If you are hunting this one down make sure you take a screenshot and item number. It rang at $99 until it was at the register, so YMMV.
Once in the main system though - was $29. Great deal for those with Ryobi tools. Will be great for a small job (need a water bucket), and keep me from pulling out the "big" pressure washer.

Has anyone used this for rinsing the salt/crud underneath a car during winter (after the garden hose water supply is shut off to prevent freezing)
I don't know specifically for this model, but they do make adjustable head sprayer tips so that you can do exactly what your asking. Still need water though.

Thanks, got this Friday and works well enough for rinsing off my mountain bikes after riding. With a 2L bottle attached, I am able to clean 2 bikes easily.

I have both this and the 600 psI brushless version. Bought this used like new in box off marketplace for 35 dollars a couple years ago. Then found a deal last year on the 18v 600 PSI version new in box with a 4ah battery for around $80. Yes The brushless version is significantly more powerful. However.
Anyone saying the older version is no more powerful than a garden hose is delusional. I've used it to clean old bricks, an old plastic Kids Clubhouse that was given to us. And grime off their inflatable pool floor a few times. The hose by itself couldn't put a dent in any of this, This unit could accomplish the cleanup. Had to put the nozzle close to clean the area but it did work...

With that said I now use the new version with a 9ah battery. Gives me plenty of run time And significant upgrade in power.

Still for thirty bucks, As long as your expectations are reasonable, this is a pretty decent unit.

Not really, I purchased this in the past and returned it in same day, it as strong as you squeeze a garden hose.
