A few reviews stating junk after about a year. And another "...described as a GARAGE READY refrigerator/freezer.; BUT what it fails to disclose is that the AMBIENT TEMPERATURE must be 38 degree's or above for it to function as a freezer..."

I've had this for about a year now. I got it when I bought a 1/2 cow. It's been great. No complaints so far. When we lost power during Helene everything stayed frozen for over 36hrs until I got a generator situated.

Could I put one of these outside, out of the sun in Phoenix? Would it survive? There are over a thousand near me.

Happy with the Hisense 13.6 cu [costco.com] for $300 in Costco. I prefer wire shelving so airflow isn't impeded and things stay put a little better. Also like 5 shelves over 4 since making full use of the space in an upright is more challenging than a chest freezer. I'm getting just about the same amount of stuff in the 13.6 cu/ft upright as the 7 cu/ft chest freezer it replaced. The difference is I don't have to pull everything out of the freezer to get something. I also don't have to inventory what is in the freezer since I can see everything.

I wonder if there is some rule of thumb regarding usable space in a chest freezer vs upright? In my experience, a chest freezer will fit twice as much stuff per given volume if you Tetris the stuff in there.

Previously I thought a small freezer was fine, but bigger ones don't consume that much more power, and now I can stock up on certain items when they are heavily discounted (anyone notice beef prices lately).

It's showing as available for me and includes a $29 delivery charge. The closest store for pickup is 8 hours away. After reading the reviews on the Lowe's site, the 38 F degree ambient temperature issue worries me so I'll be looking at other options. Too bad because this is a great price for this capacity.

I picked up a Hamilton Beach 11cubic foot upright last year for 299. Works great keep it in the garage no problems. It's still available at Costco for 399 delivered and installed right now for anyone that missed this deal.

Smaller capacity and manual defrost.

I see $500 online. Is it $300 in warehouse or did you pick one up on a prior deal?

Price was in store. Don't know if it was a promotional price, but I bought in mid-December.

You got a good deal on it. It's $449.99 in my local Costco.

Have had one for almost 5 years now. No issues at all. Have only used it as a freezer in the garage.

I'm looking at the Lowes app and its $366.00
I was at the store and the price on their store system was $599 but the guy checked that my phone was on the Lowes app and that it was his store and agreed to match the $366 price

the 299 is for the "Hamilton Beach 11cubic foot"

i don't recommend that one unless you have really limited space and wants frozen shelf
