Everyone ready for another iteration of the same thing? I don't know why I do it every year, but it's been a good 4 years now where I literally can't tell the difference and just deal with a hassle of moving everything over and logging into everything for no reason.

I still haven't used any of the AI crap that came with the s24 ultra.
Save up to $1250 is a real bad sign for how expensive this phone will be.

I'll guess $1800 for the ultra

Dude, I'm in the same boat.

The Note 20 Ultra is a powerhouse of a phone.

It's an older phone but the design and performance is still amazing today.

Having 1 TB of storage basically means you can download whatever you want on it.

Such a shame Samsung went away from the SD card capability. That alone makes me not want to switch unless I have to.
yes, been really happy with the performance of this phone and the battery health is still pretty good. don't really have any use cases where i've wished for more power, faster performance etc. the only frustrating thing is i think the camera's focus software is bad/annoying, and getting it to switch to the telephoto lens is inconsistent. but happy to continue using this phone as long as i can.

Same boat here, but I'm worried the trade-in offers will only get worse if I keep waiting.

So I have been doing this for the past few years. All ultra models. The S22 was great, but unfortunately had that issue with battery life where it heats up when you use it and loses a lot of charge for no reason other than giving out heat, so battery life was the only thing missing IMO. S23 was fantastic in all ways IMO. No complaints there other than the false advertising they did claiming it to be water resistant in up to 1.5m of water for 30 minutes. They hid away deep in their website that it was only valid for water that did not contain chemicals (aka tap water). I unfortunately ended up killing mine by taking it to the sea and trying to take a video. My fault obviously, but at the same time they need to make it clear it is only for drinking water and any other water can damage your phone. The S24 was a downgrade honestly. It is obviously the one with the best processor and battery life, but the camera is a huge let down. it is just sad to see how bad the quality downgrade is when compared to the S22 and S23 thanks to the removal of one of the cameras (10x I think it was) in favor of croping the image and doing the zoom digitally with AI. The loss in quality is very noticeable.

Here it is to hoping that the S25 fixes the camera. Again I am talking about all ultra editions.

I kept my note 20 ultra on a backup line and upgraded to the fold 6 as my daily. But every time I go back to the note I'm impressed with how well its holding up. Battery life used to be better but I still get 4hrs of SOT.

the trade-in offers have been pretty bad already for at least a couple years from what i've seen so i've given up any hope of getting much for it should i ever decide to move on. i'm ok with that.

I think my next phone after my current S23 Ultra will most likely end up being the Oneplus 13. Never owned a Oneplus before. The overall specs and the advancement they've made in their glacier battery technology have impressed me and here's hoping the reviews confirm that once it's released...

If I trusted Samsung's trade-in process in the slightest I'd consider their store an option but I don't. I traded my Galaxy Watch 4 in for a 5, the 4 was pristine and worn probably only 2 dozen times and they originally said it had some defect that wouldn't qualify it for trade-in. I had to fight them, there's no way I'd ever risk trading my phone in with them since its far more worn (no damage or screen scratches but 3 years worth of use...)
For this reason I am keeping my "good" phone and DIY repairing a cheapo Samsung A14 with power button and USB port issues. The A14 will be the trade in IF this turns out to be one of those deals where any qualifying Samsung phone will work for a fat discount. Prepaid service saves us so much money it's not a huge deal to pay up for a flagship phone every 4 or 5 years. Darn shame the ol' S22 has those pesky green lines. Doubt it would be worth much of anything to trade in Frown

No point in reserving since Samsung will release a general use code anyways on preorder day

Expecting the top tier trade value to be only 50-60% of the phone cost

Looks like they finally fixed the loophole where you didn't have to verify student account at id me, so the final price for many folks will be even worse than before.

I wished they created an Ultra version without the stylus and fit it with a bigger battery. I think I pulled out the stylus like once on my s24 ultra.

99% of people on post-paid plans (literally) don't switch carriers. If I trusted Samsung's trade-in process in the slightest I'd consider their store an option but I don't. The 1000 dollar trade in credits with my carrier is definitely the best play
Been hearing the horror stories.

But I've been lucky so far on my trade ins. I sent in a watch 4 classic for ultra and don't bother opening it until I get the final confirmation.
S10 and S22u before this and just lucking out.

Hopefully the trade in for Z Fold 5 are good and I can finally get rid of the foldable return to slab ones again!

I'll wait and see what Best Buy offers. Best Buy will typically match Samsung and throw in a gift card plus save me the hassle of dealing with shipping.
