FYI, I would suggest looking into all the security vulnerabilities that tplink products have, likely intentional and linked to the ccp. Just to describe my own experience... I had a tplink deco m9+ that shows firmware as updated through tplink app, but a manual check shows the firmware as old. I went to the tplink website for manual update, the program can't find the m9+ in the same network or the m9+ refuses connection. The latter is true, the web interface refuses to connect so no manual update of the firmware. This behavior is really suspect. The security vulnerabilities are such a concern that congress is considering banning tplink altogether. I would steer clear of companies based in mainland china and limit to taiwanese companies like asus instead, or better yet some US based companies like cisco or linksys. many IOT (internet of things) from chinese companies are used as vectors to attack from or hide identity with. I suggest looking into tplink problems and see if you should stay away from it also.
Mostly nonsense and hysteria posted by someone who didn't take the time to read in detail what the issues and potential vulnerabilities really are. It was more a hit piece against the largest Chinese manufacturer to apply political pressure to a foreign government and people are parroting it.
TP-link DECO line has some of the longest support cycles of ANY of their competitors, and firmware updates have been coming regularly. Saying they have short support cycles is absolute nonsense.

I have Amazon card as default payment and shows as Amazon promotion available if you choose % at checkout (didn't have to do anything) with a 30$ coupon I had to tap. Doesn't say anything until checkout if you press additional rewards it says 5% regular cash back plus 15%

I have a Deco mesh system set up at home with X68 units (tri-band but maybe less spec'ed than XE75?) It works well and I have been happy with it, though I've never had another mesh system to compare it to.
I'd say 2 units is probably a bit ambitions to cover 5500 sq. ft. though, depending on your home and construction.

Most people don't care and they don't understand the problem. People like saying, "I'm using it for x years and I never had any problem". That's the scary part of these attacks. These devices are used in the distributed denial of service attacks and owners won't even notice that their routers are doing that. TP-Link is pretty bad when it comes to firmware updates. Their routers have a very short life cycles (from sales and support), so they just stop supporting them. I have been a TP-Link fan for a long time, but as I got more understanding of these things, I decided to leave the brand.

Yeah, I can totally relate, I just left the brand also, and like you, a long time fan of tplink. That you are right about people not knowing or even caring about the security issues is unfortunate.

totally agree. my m9plus' latest firmware is 202407, though the router was bought at 2021 from costco.

Bought these in Fall 23 for $160 with coupon. So far have been very reliable, and I've appreciated using the secondary unit as an ethernet bridge as well.
