I hope this is helpful for others to be well informed.
After activated, the 60-day unlock countdown begins and it should unlock automatically after 60 days pass. After the first month you do not have to pay for 2nd month if you do not want to keep their service. It will still unlock after 60 days.

When I click on Activate in my account -> Get a new number -> Enter the IMEI number.
Is there any way to activate without putting the IMEI number?
People in the earlier thread were able to activate the line with a new number instead of porting, before they received their phone. Thanks!
