Thanks! Does anyone know if I have to insert the SIM in the new (locked) phone to initiate the unlock date to be assigned or can I just use another phone to activate the line? I'd prefer not to use / activate the new phone until after it has been fully unlocked.
You can use any other phone. That's what I did (yesterday), and today I already got a text that my port was completed (GV) and got my unlock date.

Same here. Was returned with an unlock date. Since yesterday or maybe earlier as I didn't text unlock to 611611 everyday, I received this exact same message and tried t-mobile sim card but it didn't work.

Worked for me when I used another deal like that a month ago.
When I tried to port in a gv number, I was asked the zip code. Is that my google account zip code or something else?

I just activated my the iphone 13: On texting unlock to 611611, I get
" Great news, your phone is already unlocked"
However, the phone is NOT actually unlocked. I checked at sickw - it shows locked. Also another carrier's SIM doesn't work.
Any idea from anyone? Thanks in advance.

I called their unlocking department, they asked for my imei and I explained the issue (getting text that the phone is unlocked although it's locked), and they just confirmed that it will unlock only 60 days after the activation and the texts are wrong and I should disregard them. The reason for those texts as they told me is "transitioning to verizon and that causing errors". Weird.

I texted unlock to 611611, which said my phone was already unlocked. So I called the unlock team and they said I have to call in two months to have them unlock it…does that mean I need to have service for two months? Or will it be unlocked automatically as the post says?

Called the Unlock department. They said the phones have to be unlocked MANUALLY now because of system issues which do not identify IMEIs to be unlocked.
So they asked me to call back after 2 months, and then they will unlock it. They will check for active service for 60 days.

So this deal has change to be MORE expensive. 2 months of service is needed otherwise the phone will NOT unlock. Wish I had known about this before buying.

I ported in using Google Voice. The new number option wasn't available to me. It took 2 days to port.

It appears you got the trainee. The policy on their site hasn't changed, and neither has the agreement they signed when absorbing Tracfone. Wait until Monday, text unlock again.

Once I complete the ID verification and go to the checkout page, it says id verification discount applied but shows the price of the iPhone 13 as $249 instead of $149. Does anyone have any thoughts how to get past this? Would really appreciate some help, thank you!
