Split it in the app. When you go to pay there's two options at the top. The first says "Full Bill" and is highlighted in blue. You want to select "Split Bill". It'll add a box below it saying bill portion and you type in the pre-coupon total, $50 in this case.

No, sadly.

I typically will split the bill with myself though, first paying $50 using the coupon and $25 from my balance, and then the rest of the bill on a second pass with my expiring cash back.

First time purchasing this deal. Can the voucher be used towards a happy hour or a special menu? Does it work as a regular gift card?
Yup! Works just like a gift card

If i wanted to eat at an inkind restaurant with a bunch of people. Can i have me and 2 friends buy 5 gift cards each and load it onto one account and pay a bill that would potentially be $1500 total? Would the restaurant accept a large amount like that from inKind credit or can you only use $100 at a time each time you visit a restaurant?
Yes you can. Currently there is no cap that I'm aware of.

FYI, I called DogHaus a restaurant on the list I wanted to use, and they said they weren't accepting Inkind GC's because they owed them allot of money. Not sure if any other business is going through this but wanted to share with the SD community. I used to use Restaurants.com back in the day and found with these types of deals it's always best to check with business before purchasing the GC's.

That doesn't sound right. Contact inkind support to confirm.

In a smaller city, I could see that. I live in Austin where inKind is based, and the opposite is true here. Restaurants keep getting added. Also, the business model is weird where inKind is the investor in a lot of these restaurants and paying for your bill pays them back. It seems like they're in very deep at this point and I'm less worried about them disappearing anytime soon.
I'm Austin too, but honestly, I do feel that inKind might be running up against some cashflow or business model issues.
I only say this because of several changes to the program they implemented over the past 6 months...
Recently:
  • They updated their inKind credits policy so that cashback expire 2 months after earning. I reached out to support in November when I first saw this change and they said, "Beginning November 1, 2024, inKind Credit Back will expire 2 calendar months after it was earned."
  • In December, there was another update to their cashback credits expiration, where the whole balance now shared an expiry "The entire Cash Back balance shares an expiration, and it is 2 months from the most recent time you earn or use Cash Back rewards, or purchase inKind Cash."
  • They modified other portions of their inKind program -- for instance, they stopped offering the free $10/$20 for your first outing each month.
  • They have been running aggressive gift card bonus offers that build up their cash reserves - I think the most recent one was "get up to 50% bonus cashback" but the catch was to qualify for the 50% bonus, you had to purchase ~$1,500ish of credit balance (I'm estimating here because I can't pull any of their terms atm)
I wonder if their model can continue to be sustainable.
It's definitely a great deal for users of the app, and if a program offers outsized value, it is likely to devalue or collapse.

I don't believe it's a matter of accepting inKind GC or not -- they may just not want to do any inKind transactions at all.
The way this should work is that you pay using the app by entering your check/table number.
The restaurant doesn't really have a say in how you choose to pay via the inKind app - unless they work to discourage you entirely to not use the app (which, in this case, they are probably violating their agreement with inKind, and will likely come to an agreement to be removed from the platform)

I used this in a restaurant recently. While they did accept this without issues, the first invoice they generated after my meal did not contain any bill number that I could enter in the app. Then when I told them I plan to pay using InKind and that I couldn't find a bill number, they went back and printed a different kind of invoice that had a number.

I know, the way InKind was supposed to operate is that unlike a Groupon (which many places treat like a lower tier), you shouldn't even have to tell them you're using InKind, just pay using this app - this becomes impossible if businesses start printing a different bill for InKind.

Hi, is there a way to get 20% cash back AND use my inkind gift card? It seems to give two options when i'm trying to pay, and 20% cashback only seems to be apply when it's through my credit card. Thanks in advance

The 20% cashback only applies when you pay in a cash equivalent, not credit.

In other words, you cant double dip with gift cards

But it says "20% inKind Cash Back on your bill after using your e-gift card balance".

Lol okay dude, email them and tell them who is boss..

Click on terms and conditions:

(i) Dine and Earn - you pay a bill using the inKind App and receive back up to 20% of the amount charged to your credit card on file (excluding any gratuities, fees and service charges) to spend on subsequent visits. If you pay all or part of your bill with discounts, bonuses, previously earned inKind Cash Back, or inKind Balances, you will not earn inKind Cash Back on the amount of your bill paid in that manner;

Usually within 15mins, did your payment not go thru or have you purchased them within 2 weeks?

Found out after several hours with support. I can't use my card on my wife's account. Finally reordered and went thru.
