For $405 pre-tax I can trade in my S24U 512GB and get the S25U 256GB + Buds3 Pro.
Under the Best Buy deal, for $350 pre-tax I can trade in my S24U 512GB and get the S25U 256GB + a $200 Best Buy gift card. If you value the GC at $200, it brings effective price down to $150 at Best Buy, versus $405 at Samsung.
Unless I value the Buds3 Pro at $255+, then the Best Buy deal comes out better.
Also, I have had every version of the "Ultra" GS line. I have never run into a storage problem with 256GB, because so much data is now kept in the cloud. So I put no value on 256GB v. 512GB.

If all you care about is a $12 case, having all that samsung credit is useless. I'd rather have it as a Best Buy gift card. Especially in my case where I used $200 of Best Buy points.

The final nail on the coffin is that some of the comments above here say that Best Buy refunds the sales tax on the trade in. That's more than $55 for me.

Looks like I could get a watch cheap also, but it won't beat the $3 watch 7 I just picked up from Best Buy last month thanks to slickdeals.

S25U via S24U trade-in at Best Buy is around $160+ (depending on CC rewards and taxes).
S25U via S23U trade-in at Samsung is around $309+ (10% CB, $110-120 buds re-sale, edu/epp, -$50 reserve code) - better than last year's upgrade deal from S23U to S24 (think it was $400+ range).
So monthly cost of S24U for one year was around $13.33 vs. monthly cost of S23U for two years around $12.88.
