It is a 1000-nits mini-LED HDR1000 display which outshines any gaming displays in even the highest end gaming laptops and 120Hz is still good for gaming.

This is a very good price for this productivity/light gaming laptop, probably the cheapest one by far.

Yes agreed, that's why I bought it and posted it! Thanks for clarifying how good a panel it is.

My understanding is that the 4080 at 105w which this is rated for does outperform a full watt 4070, but of course does fall behind the full power 4080. I'd say overall better than just light gaming.

Does anyone know anything about the size of the charger? I was about to pull the trigger on a yoga pro 9i but this seems to have better specs. I value portability and if I have to lug around a brick charger it would somewhat defeat the purpose.

Fortunately this one has a 3 year warranty, and the motherboard is no longer inverted!
If that's the case with it no longer being inverted, it wouldn't be that hard to put PTM7950 and Upsiren Thermal putty in place of whatever thermal paste/pads comes with this to help any heating issues it might have. I did it on an MSI RAIDER GE66 10750h/2070 super and it made a great difference in temps and fan noise

i tried finding reviews for this specific model. None that i found yet. There arent any reviews of the 4080 at lower wattage too so i cannot tell where gpu performance lies. As for the CPU well it seems underwhelming. Post some reviews of this laptop with 4080 if you can find any please.
Here's a Video that Benchmarks the 4080 version : (2) MSI Stealth 16 AI Studio A1V (2024) | Gaming Benchmark & Running Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred - YouTube

There's a short reddit thread that discuss about the laptop : https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLa...5h_nvidia/

So it would seem the GPU 3DMark TimeSpy score is around 15000 :
from this youtube Video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h...eekCulture
and this forum thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLa...5h_nvidia/

A full power laptop rtx4080 will get you a 22 000 TimSpy score :

https://www.3dmark.com/search#adv...xCpuClock=

Meaning about a 45% increase.

A full power laptop RTX 4070 will get you a 15000 score :
https://www.3dmark.com/search#adv...xCpuClock=

So on this aspect it does seem to perform similar to a laptop rtx4070.

The CPU score is around 10000 on TimeSPy (from the forum and the video)
An I9 14900HX can get you to 24000

Considering this is in the same price range as an Asus Zephyrus 4070, but you get extra VRAM, much more RAM, and a decent size battery with a more power
efficient 4080 (as a 4070 would have to use much more power to get you the same performance)
the price point seems good.

Not sure whether to take a chance on this, I've been holding out for 50% off the rog the Zephyrus rtx4080 oled but dont think that is going to happen. Don't think its going to be worth holding out for a rtx5x series laptop either as I imagine the price will be super expensive

I ordered yesterday (Jan/23), and I just called them today, and they said they're expecting to ship it Jan/29. Not too bad. The only thing I'm very worried about is the Intel CPU and the resulting battery life. It can still be charged via USB-C to some degree, right?

Can someone tell me where to find the info on the 3 year warranty on this laptop? I keep seeing 12 months on the MSI website.

Thanks for the links. That confirmed my speculation the laptop can't push the 4k resolution which comes with the screen. Diablo 4 with max settings was running at low mid 30 to low 40 fps

Just a warning, the Mini-LED display is not useable for graphic design. Whites appear as grey on black due to the dimming zones.

MSI really needs to have a way to select one dimming zone vs. multiple dimming zones so this can be used in different scenarios
