- Soldered RAM, so it's 16gb forever.
- Lower GPU wattage than some other 4060 laptops, so newer games may need a reduction in resolution and/or detail.
- Excellent, sleek build quality - closer to a MacBook or Microsoft Surface than most gaming laptops (other than Razer). Only a little over 3 lbs. so this is a great traveling companion.
- Some of the best speakers ever put into a 14" laptop, no exaggeration.
- Asus switched to a new charger style for 2024, and they are not cheap! It does charge off USB-C of course, but not at full power.
- Great vibrant screen overall as you'd expect from an OLED, with 120hz and ~400 nits of brightness.
I own its big brother the g16, and it's a great daily driver for me.

I finally found a legitimate work around for disabling the fTPM and the stutter disappeared for an extended period of time. It's virtually gone. So this issue is real and I'm not aware of a BIOS update that fixes it. I'm on 319. The problem w/ this solution is it's pretty hacky and I can't update windows while it's in effect. Really annoyed because I like these computers but I'm spending a lot of time tweaking it just to get it to work.
If this deal wasn't locked into 16gb I would roll the dice.
Pros:

Keyboard feels nice (1 zone RGB lighting only though)
Loudest/clearest/bumping speakers I've heard in this form factor...like really really good.
CON:
ONLY think that irks me, it comes with a proprietary charger/port and you MUST use it to get full gaming performance out of the thing. You can definitely charge via USB-C but really only for productivity and non-gaming use. The laptop (at least mine) suffers from performance drops and stuttering during gaming when plugged in w/ a separate USB-C charger (yes I've tried different wattage chargers all the way up to 200w). Makes docked setup kind of difficult, but you will want to use this as-is anyway due to all the pros above. Might be a driver thing, not sure.

I get around 6.5 hours of battery, which isn't much compared to ARM-based Macs, but good for this type of computer. The only thing I hate about mine is how it's not possible to charge via USB-c like the 2024's are, it will continually charge then use the battery till it uses a bit and then re-charge, it doesn't have USB-c pass through. I can go with easily half the performance on a smaller charger, but the only alternative is using their large 240w barrel adapter.
The matte screen is such a nice change as is the upgradability. Still tiresome to take the large charger when just not doing any kind of gaming, etc. Asus general reliability has been iffy for people, but luckily I've never had issues with any of their products.
