I bought these on the last deal and they work pretty well.

I trimmed a bunch of holly tree branches. Up to 2" in diameter. Took a bit of work but it got thru them.

Is there a better brand of loppers you'd recommend?

Where do you take them to have them sharpened? I have some that need sharpening. Thank you.

I have these and the only issue is when you're in between branches, often can't spread the handles to 180 degrees, which is what it takes to open them up. Great concept when space permits, but can be frustrating in tight spaces.

bench top grinder or a file will do the job. you're only sharpening 1 blade.

Just had to chime in, have had mine for nearly 10 years. Still great. I live in an apartment now so I don't use it as often but it's still very sharp. I usually it annually to cut down branches that grow too close to my driveway and to break down our annual christmas tree. Can't see it losing its sharpness anytime soon.

I know this comment isn't slick or a deal, but I'm done with loppers powered by my aging body.

Look up power pruners. Each cordless tool brand seems to have one. "Kebtek" on Amazon was the first ones I knew about because of a YouTuber named "this old Tony"

I got one and let me tell you, they are terrifying. 1.25" branches stand no chance, the blade closes through it like it almost isn't there on a single trigger pull.

No more pipes over the handles for leverage, or putting one side against my leg so I can use both hands on the other side. Just a simple trigger pull.

If it is bigger than 1.25", get a reciprocal saw and a carbide blade for pruning and roots. Yeah, roots in the ground. You can plunge cut a root out of the hole you're digging. It will also cut right through 4" branches you're after like butter.

Do yourself a favor and save your money to buy these time saving conveniences. Chances are there is a "tool only" version for the battery ecosystem you're already in.

I'm a gardener and these things damage your tree and expose them to diseases. The pressure these apply do not make clean cuts. What you want is a mini folding saw. Those require more work, but it will make a nice cut.

Yep! I run into that problem very often. They cut good, but an issue getting in and being able to open the handles enough.
