Pre-ground?! Only if it comes with a certificate of authenticity that it was ground at precisely 18 degrees celsius with RH between 70% and 80% on a conical tungsten burr grinder between 18k and 20k RPM by a current member of the Chartered Arabica Grinders' Guild.

Otherwise, why bother, I can DIY

2 reasons for me and we are a 2-3 pot a day couple. I'm cheap which I why I wait for a deal on here to stock up. I'm also too lazy to deal with grinding my own beans.

So $5.28/lb for those of us who don't use a per oz price.

In for one. Thx.

Quote from CameronN7188 :
Excerpt from the Coffee Review Dot Com review of Caffe Verona:"Who Should Drink It: Dark-roast drinkers who don't have other options.""Starbucks' limited edition wholebean coffees are often outstanding, but the quality-dampening demands of sheer volume appear to have taken its toll on main-menu blends like the Verona.""In the cup sweet and pungent, but the charred cedar notes turn to charred board notes, expressionless and woody. A vague hint of fruit at the top of the profile. I hope the nominating reader tasted a better sample of the Verona than this one."lmao at how subtle they made their absolute contempt for this cardboard-a$$ blend!
"...the charred cedar notes turn to charred board notes, expressionless and woody." I got this exact item a few months ago (at an even better Front Page price), and this portion of the review describes my experience better than I could have. Charred, expressionless, and board-like. And bitter. Maybe it works for some, but not for me.

I like good coffee, but I'm not a coffee snob. I rarely buy pre-ground, but the pricing for this was too good, and I recalled this blend was fine from past experience. This was just beyond, and (to me) borderline undrinkable. It's the first coffee I've ever seriously considered throwing away, but being a Slickdealer, of course we powered through the whole bag to make sure we took advantage of the great "deal" I got. But, never again.

A split second before the coffee is added to my machine, it has been calibrated by top members of the state and federal Department of Weights and Measures to be dead-on balls accurate.

Despite the downvotes, I gave you a like. I was going to ask how does this Verona Dark Roast taste because I've tried Starbucks French Roast (Whole Bea, Dark Roast, Arabica) from Costco and I find them bitter. I will keep an eye out for when the whole beans go on sale.
Thanks for the upvotes! I understand those downvotes. Not everyone care much about what's in their cups, and just be OK as long it tastes somewhat like coffee and yields that caffein-kick.
To me, coffee brings joys and delights, which is way more important to myself than its caffein-kick. Life is short, folks, so try to enjoy it to the fullest. ^.^
To answer your question - This Verona tastes much better than the Starbucks French Roast variety. Way less bitter, and has a hint of chocolatey and caramel. You should be able to enjoy it with either espresso or brew. Cheers! 😉

Why do people feel the need to persuade people not to buy something based on their tastes? With coffee, taste is subjective.

Perhaps you're misinterpreting some negative reviews as attempts to persuade, rather than attempts to provide a helpful product review. Whereas some comments undoubtedly just trash a product without giving any useful detail (and I don't understand why people bother with such comments), others explain why the OP thinks it's a poor product (which might then make it not a "slick deal"). Ultimately, it's all subjective, and everyone's free to decide whether a negative review is earnest and useful.

I generally don't like Starbucks coffee, but I find this one really good. I bought it for about $6 a couple years ago and I buy it now when on sale with 15% S&S and coupon.

Add some next time you make pasta sauce. Apparently it's one of number of secret ingredient hack? AI alert:

Quote :
Adding ground coffee to pasta sauce might sound unusual, but it can actually enhance the depth and complexity of the flavor. The rich, roasted notes from the coffee can complement the acidity and sweetness of the tomatoes, giving the sauce a unique and robust taste.

Here's a quick idea to try it out:
  1. Start by making your usual tomato-based pasta sauce.
  2. Add a teaspoon of ground coffee to the sauce while it's simmering. You might want to start with a small amount and adjust to taste.
  3. Let it simmer for a bit longer to allow the flavors to meld together.
