I've been waiting for a string trimmer deal, but almost all the Home Depot reviews for this combo talk about the blower not the trimmer. I think I'll wait for now.

i have the older model trimmer (where you can swap heads easily) and got this one because of the easy load. I could have bought the new easy load head but good to have another trimmer for another purpose. This trimmer looks to be permanently attached vs the older model - there is a wire loom that leads up to the head so no swapping out new attachemnts with this head.
I got this as its a lot lighter than the milwaukee trimmer head combo - the milwaukee is built with a shoulder strap vs this makita. It definitely doesnt cut as well as the milwaukee especially for thick grass / brush - but i got the makita to more frequent touch up work and hit more spots vs waiting for a while with the milwaukee then cleaning up only the large areas.
from a cost breakdown - trimmer $50 (better than most at 50), blower $50 - easily $100, battery and charger $50
