Looking to upgrade my computer slowly and I want to start with the CPU. I am currently running a 5600x with a 3080. Any recommendation without breaking the bank?
Honestly I'd say just save your money.

In your case I would say there's no point in putting more money into a dead end platform. It'd be better to save a bit to get something on AM5 so that means new CPU, Motherboard and Ram. You can then carry over your GPU for a while longer.

I used to do these little incremental upgrades a long time ago, and in my experience, unless you have a specific need/goal that you feel justifies a specific dollar price attached to it, or you have a good re-use for your old hardware, just save your money until you see a deal on jumping to the next platform. You'll surely get more out of your $150 in 9600X form.

Dang, I just bought this for $160 last week. It's not worth whatever it came out for at retail ($250?) but for this price it's a good chip. I upgraded from a ryzen 2600 and this has doubled my fps in most games while letting me enjoy more eye candy settings at 1440p. Stays cool too.

For gaming on am4 it's hard to beat the 5700x3d honestly. you can still get them on AliExpress from legitimate sellers for roughly 150-200 shipped
$150-200 for the 5700x3d? While the 5700 is a fantastic value, they might as well go with the 5800x3d if they are the same price.

wym? the 5800x3d is impossible to find and is double if not triple the price of a 5700x3d.

At $150 this is a pretty good deal for those still on AM4

Again, everyone knows the 5700X3D is the better chip but good luck getting those even on Ali Express at this price anymore.

The L3 cache isn't the end all be all of performance...

Any idea if the 5700X3D is out of production? Looks like it's OOS at most places I'd normally look (Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, some MicroCenters). That was going to be my last stop on my AM4 X570 motherboard, upgrading from a 2700X.
I bought a 5700x3D that was brand new in generic packaging from eBay last week for $205, so maybe check there. I gave up looking for a retail version for a decent price and figured I better get one now before they are gone.

Somehow my $110 5700X from AliExpress doesn't seem like such a great deal any more Stick Out Tongue

Not sure why you got downvoted but I took a look and the cheapest 5700x3d was like $165 on AliExpress. I'd rather not deal with the possibility of bent pins so picking up this will be a nice upgrade from my 3700x

Any experience with "Computer Hardware Global Store"?
I have, shipped fine. Installed it and ran benchmarks to verify they match the expected results and all was good.

The 5700X3D is still going for ~$150 on Ali Express, probably less if you use coupon codes. The 5800XT is better if you aren't a gamer or if other tasks are a bigger priority.

I got a 5700X3D for $125 + tax back in Nov but it looks like prices have ticked up.

I'm thinking of replacing my 5700G Proxmox cluster with these but I need a fanless or very cheap video card.
Any suggestions?
