Pro tip: I figured out recently, after making several BB open box purchases, that you can call or chat with BB corporate and they have a full description of the condition of every open box unit. Just a few days ago, I found a G4 open box that I was considering. There were 2 units available at different locations, purportedly in the same condition. The CSR was able to tell me about: display model (y/n), screen condition, scratches, dents, accessories, box, how long owned / when returned, etc. It made the open box purchase process less of a crapshoot.

This is a great TV for the money. I got one last month at this price and with opening a BB credit card, I received 20% ($300) back in BB store credit. Effectively making it $1200. I will never go back to LCD TV's after getting this OLED.

See if you can purchase a warranty. A few years ago, people were purchasing discounted store displays along with burn in warranties. They had the screens replaced after a few months.

I had the same concern about lots of natural light and relative brightness of the C model, if placed in my open living room. I ended up getting the G model, and the TV's brightness stands up to even midday sun shining through multiple windows. It made a huge difference for me.

Good deal but you should be able to find the 77 C4 under $2000, i think someone had it for $1750.

Best buy seems so random with their grading. I did buy a fair condition open box aony oled 2 1/2 years ago and it's still working great.

There wasn't a box and a couple of scuffs on thr side of the unit, but otherwise definitely worth the savings.

For comparison, I bought a 77" G2 as open box fair last year, and it looked practically new and had 70 hours of runtime on it.

Hmm? That's news to me. I bought my G3 83" from them, and I couldn't add on the protection plan after the return window closed. I didn't plan on buying it because it was $700 and the G Series comes with the 5 year panel warranty from LG.

There were 2 open box G4 65" TVs in my area. Both were marked as "fair" condition; however, after speaking with a CSR, I found out that one unit had scratches and blemishes on the screen, was purchased and used for ~120 days, and was missing all accessories (no stand or remote). Kind of a big deal. The other G4 unit marked in "fair" condition had no screen imperfections, came with all accessories and original box, and had been purchased and returned within a 15-day window. That was the unit I purchased, and it is basically new with zero hours on the display. At the time I purchased it (10 days ago), the open box G4 65" was $1,550 in "fair" condition. I have no idea how BB determines condition of open box items, but it is somewhat random. Make the call and get the info before going on the rabbit hunt.
