The worst part for me was getting the damn thing out of the box... I was so worried I'd break something.
What I did was remove the styrofoam from the top, then open the box from the bottom and carefully lift it off the tv.
Then I lifted the tv by the bottom styrofoam and set it up on my bed so that i could carefully cut/break away enough styrofoam to be able to actually find a place to grip the tv by the bottom. (i did this by myself)

I have done this at Best Buy. I had the sales men get the TV remotes and I put the TVs into Film Maker mode since the salesmen had no idea. While there is a difference it is not this "drastic" amount in real world use.
i assume you also didnt check the settings. Best Buy routinely puts the more expensive TVs into "Store Display" mode which massively pumps up the brightness and leave the the cheaper TVs in a normal mode. Sounds like you fell for this trick.
If the price difference is minimal go for the C series, but otherwise, nope. B series is a great TV. Heck, the A series is also fantastic in real world use.
