You forgot 2 important specs.
Thickness is 0.48 inches and weight is 3.3 lbs. That's quite impressive on a 16" touchscreen laptop.
I feel like we don't have enough discussions on Ryzen ai 9. I read in another post that it is not as efficient as lunar lake. I would like to know what to expect for battery life on this laptop.

That's NOT true, check your facts. The laptop may be registered with the first buyer, but I went through two emails with Asus to unregister it and register it in my name. Asus covers the laptop with its full manufacturer's warranty.

Nowhere did I claim to have the laptop, in fact I clearly said "Just sharing what I remember from when I researched it myself." There were many people online with these complaints, and that's why I was sharing that info to help people make an informed decision.

I'm glad that your experience is different, that's also good for people know, but it's just one data point. You need not look farther than the reviews on the Best Buy link itself to find people echoing these concerns. Here I'll share a few:

"Heat: This is the final and likely most significant if you use it on anything other than a desk. Even during normal useage the keyboard deck can get very warm to the touch and the bottom can get uncomfortable after a short time on your lap."

"It is beautiful and sexy but run hotter than all other laptops I have had."

"The one major flaw with this laptop is that it gets extremely hot to the touch when doing anything more than general use. Download a file? Run a game? This thing gets very, very hot to the touch on the underside between your lap. Just be mindful if you plan to do performance work that way. Outside of that, during general use it remains cool enough and the fans are fairly quiet."

"Heat: There will be times that the laptop will be warm and the fans will turn on. Even right now as I am writing this I am on 54% battery not plugged in, I have one window open with 12 tabs and the fans are on and the back is warm. Looking at the My Asus app I can see that the right find is always running faster than the left one. Sometimes it gets really loud where I have to try and cool the laptop down by hovering it above my desk for a few seconds. It seems like the cooling solution in this laptop isn't very good or the chip is drawing too much power. Or both."

"The biggest problem was how hot the keyboard and bottom felt when performing heavy tasks. Very hot to touch. Would burn your skin if touching. The fans would run while even watching 4K video on YouTube. This was a turn off for me so I returned the device."

There are a dozen more complaints about the heat just on this one listing, if you look on reddit or youtube you will find a lot more.

Maybe not a ton of of people game on their lap, or do other intensive work, but some might and they would want to know about this. Also, people are saying it doesn't take a lot to get this laptop to heat up anyways. Even a 4k video or lots of browser tabs will do it. You don't think people do that on their lap?

Making strawman arguments like "playing Cyberpunk shirtless" undermines your point and credibility. If you're happy with your laptop that's great, people would love to hear your experiences with it before making a purchase.

Really good specs, but surprised by mediocre reviews (<4.0 avg). Be extra mindful that open box warranty is serviced by BB / Geek Squad, which takes weeks if you need to mail it in. Asus does not provide warranty on open boxes directly.

I gave this a thumbs up because the specs are excellent for the price, but recently I purchased a Vivobook S 16 with the AI 9 370 and was underwhelmed by the battery life. Was getting 6 hours during my work day and significant drain while asleep. Don't know if I got a lemon but exchanged for one with Lunar Lake processor and it is lasting multiple days on single charge.
I do think the Ryzen would probably serve better in high performance situations.

One of the big complaints on this laptop are that it gets physically hot, especially on the keyboard deck and your lap. I think they tried too hard to make it ultra thin. Also the screen is very glossy and has some issues with white colors and "color flickering" since it's an OLED touchscreen. You can look into reviews yourself.

Just sharing what I remember from when I researched it myself.

There's a lot to like about this laptop but it's not perfect.

Again, NOT true! Do you actually have the laptop in your hands and use it for you to provide that kind of a comment?
I do, and that's completely not true. On everyday use no matter what you do it is cool as a block of ice. Now when you ramp up the laptop by playing a game, I don't know if anyone who runs a game on a laptop in their lap so that by itself it's still not very relevant because any machine will warm up significantly during gaming session. Just because you game on a laptop doesn't mean you need to have it on your shirtless stomach while running Cyberpunk.

Yup you can re-register the product under your name. But when you want to file a claim with Asus, it will direct you to Best Buy. Have you tried filing a claim?

This channel claims that the Ryzen is actually MORE power efficient than Lunar Lake, but they are usually run at higher power than Lunar Lake because there is more performance head room. You can limit power to that of Lunar Lake and still get more performance.

EDIT: I linked the above video because that is about the battery of this specific laptop. Regarding the claim vs Lunar Lake, I may be partially incorrect - Ryzen is more power efficient in perf/watt, but it doesn't necessarily drop down to the performance levels of Lunar Lake. The source of my claim is at https://youtu.be/7-H_1iCdI9w?si=o...AoWV&t=417 . Although this slide is focusing on Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake is on the graph. At 30 watts, where Ryzen is cut off (I'm sure Ryzen has lower power states - we just don't know it's performance at lower power from the video), the Ryzen processor looks to be up to 50% faster than Lunar Lake at the same power.

Let's be clear that Asus support is hit or miss; i.e. EVERYONE will have their own individual luck/experience. Take a look at the attached image - I'm not sure what else to say.

I bought my 1st one in November for $250 off. Then I found another one for $450 off. I returned the 1st one, got the 2nd one. I'm currently on my 3rd one and I LOVE the fact I saved $580 on a BRAND NEW Ultrabook. I don't game on it - it's strictly a home-office machine.

So for everyone that $580 OFF on a NEW Ultrabook is not enough of an incentive, and you're going to nitpick the warranty and whatnot - then pay full price for it. It's an incredible laptop. I'm not sure what else needs to be said about it.

What is the AI performance like on this ultrabook? Aside from the recall and Co-pilot+ gimmick wonder how it can run LMstudo. Maybe just buy an open box and test or thoughts from other owners? Thanks
