Wasn't there recent news about cybersecurity vulnerabilities in TP-Link routers and discussions about them potentially being banned due to their use in botnets or something similar?
Beware if you have an older deco unit with parental controls if you upgrade to this unit or any other newer setup they only give you basic limited controls. They want you to now pay for the "advanced features" you had in your older deco's that were free.
I posted this when I was at the warehouse by copying text from image. I would still blame it on AI though.

What's with all the spelling mistakes, "Spands Up to 5.300 Mbps
Winks Aless & Col
3 Tri-Band Ringm
Coven up to 7,200 Sq Ft
Support up 200 Dev"? Was this posted by a demented AI engine whose native language isn't English?!

I have this system, been using it for more than a year and a half, been rock solid. Bought from costco and paid $350 at the time. A steal at $200

Has anyone seen the same price in the warehouse? Sounds like a great deal.

I can confirm the reduced pricing at a Northern California Costco warehouse. I saw the drop and picked one up.

These thing are pretty rock solid. The WiFi 7 versions are quite a bit better for mixed 2.4 and 5/6 environments. But yes there is a lot of chatter that TP-LLINK. Could be banned by the new government. So buyer beware. I'm site retailers are just trying to clear out stock and wait it out.

I've been talking about TP-Link occasionally. It's a tough situation because they do work great. I've had a lot of success using them and/or Orbi lately.

But the vulnerability thing just is a frustrating thing on many levels. Which is why I mention Orbi.

Edit: maybe you can run custom firmware that avoids the issues. Something I'll try and figure out.

Just in case. FYI.

It's a good article because it points out there aren't specific known vulnerabilities in just TP-Link routers but all Chinese made routers.

What has me a little uneasy is my deco hasn't had a firmware update since last July and it's one of the recent higher end models.

Aren't non-government people already openly accessing sensitive information about everyone in the US?
