As with all Tello deals, this can be combined with a referral to get $10 Tello dollars to use in the future. And if you don't really need 35GB, you can downgrade after month three. Tello makes it easy to change each month, so you don't have to pay for more than you need. And while it doesn't work for this plan, if you have a fixed amount of data/minutes, you can rollover unused units by manually renewing a day before the autopay.

!!!Warning!!!: They operate on a 30-day billing cycle (28 days in February), effectively shortening the billing period and costing you an extra month every four years. Over time, they steal 5–7 extra days from you per year. I'd recommend considering an alternative.

Thanks for this breakdown. Currently on Mint and the coverage has been identical to my older native T-Mobile plan.

Im trialing infinimobile Verizon for 1 month and the speeds are dreadful. Don't know if it's Verizon coverage (around 50mbps) or the mvno.

Are all Verizon mvno the same? Aside from Mint, which others have similar speeds on T-Mobile network? Wish there was a definitive guide somewhere

MVNO use Verizon towers, but each one goes about it differently, therefore YMMV depending on which one you sign up with. Also, each MVNO handling customer queries are hit miss depending if they off shore accounts for customer service. US mobile has excellent customer service and you can try all 3 networks on your phone to see which one has the strongest signal and reliability. Tello also works good on T-Mobile network and customer service is on par with US Mobile for the most part. Visible has good sign up plans, but they run off Verizon which is a no go for your hood for signal strength. Also, they off shore their customer service through chat only, so that may be an issue if you need help from real peeps that understand your language.

Wow . Thank you!! Excellent recap!
Did a bit more digging and the coverage map for Verizon is spot on and explains the hole I'm in.

I need some help from those with experience with these phone plans. My mom is currently on Metro but she's paying $55 per month. She only needs data because the cell signal in her apartment is bad so wifi calling helps plus she text family and friends overseas.

I was looking at Mint for the year. I have no experience with these plans but $55 per month is insane for a senior on a fixed income.

Thanks in advance
Tru dat!! $55/mo is damn near highway robbery right there. Check out Tello & US Mobil plans. They run off T-mobile towers.

Unless she has very specific requirements, and she's happy with metro service, then any T-Mobile mvno will be great.

I discovered MVNO 3 years ago, and kicked myself waiting so long dumping the big 3 directly.

ZERO reason to be with Verizon, att, T-Mobile directly. Unless corporate or grandfathered plan. It's amazing the stigma most still have towards the MVNO. Most think they're awful, or for shady uses. Power of marketing never ceases to amaze me... Branding cell service, charging 3 -6x more, all for the illusion of elite or hassle free. They are anything but

I didn't know this, but I came here to also say that Tello is not your friend!

They told me my credits expired AFTER they expired, when they could easily have warned me before they expired. They are not user/consumer friendly. You have been warned don't be fooled.

I'm too lazy to search terms, but what constitutes a "new customer"? I'm coming off the cheap prepaid year on Boost the end of next month.

Also, do any of these MVNOs offer free visual voicemail? Seems insane to pay a 20% markup (based on $25/mo plan and $5 for vm). I've only tried Telli and Mint before this, and it worked for a bit then they got rid of it, which is why I switched to Tello. I had a marginally better experience over nothing at all, but Boost is horrible - if for whatever reason I miss the notification, I never know I have vm.

Why you using metro & mint if cell signal is bad? Both them mvno are using t-mobil towers. Try att or verizon mvno to see if that will be better option for signal strength. US mobil lets you switch between the big 3 to see which signal works for you. Then you can lock in their $18/mo plan.

I have a co-worker that boasts they have been with att for 20 years & that they are the best, most reliable, no issues, etc.,
I ask him how much he pays & he says he grandfathered into a unlimited 3 phone plan (with taxes) $240/mo 🙀

$240 x 12 mos = $2880/yr 😱

So, for comparison here's US mobil's unlimited mvno att plan for 3 peeps (code name dark star) $54 x 12 mos = $648/yr

Mvno: That is the way...

There is a fairly good reason to go with "the big 3". MVNOs get deprioritized and throttled first before post paid during network congestion issues ... Claiming there is zero reasons is wrong
