You can go thru Costco or Sams club if youre a member. Saves you the $35 fee and you can earn up to a $100 gift card for upgrading.

Seems like Simple Choice does qualify and gets you up to $500 trade in value.
Unfortunately t mobile charges $30 extra on phones (apple sells ip16 for 800 and t mobile for 830.
T mobile also asked for $35 connection charge.
This extra $65 surcharge makes it less appealing ☹️

Did the deal on the Costco phone line. Magenta Max customer. Successfully ordered 3 phones with the deal. Some notes.
  1. Prepare to be upsold. I was offered watch promo, tablet promo, accessories promo, and asked if I needed any more lines. I know they have a job to do, but it was getting to feel like a timeshare presentation. Prepare your best "thank you but I'll pass on that today" and stick to it. The final call took 45 minutes total to get the job done. Worth it for the $300 in Costco gift cards, but exhausting.
  2. It took me three calls to get this done and I waited 20-30 minutes hold time on each call. First call rang, but didn't connect to a person. Second call, made it almost to checkout with the rep, and then the line disconnected, which was super frustrating. I nicely told the third rep that he was my third rep, and to please call me back if we get disconnected. He said he has to get approval from his supervisor to call someone back. Madness.
  3. Have all your info ready before you call. Gather your IMEI numbers to trade, the phones you want to order, all of it. My third call was very smooth because I had all that info at hand in a notepad note.
Was prepared to make a 45-minute trip to the nearest Costco that has a T-Mo kiosk in order to be able to take the phones with me. Now I'm seeing that they don't stock phones, so I'm glad I didn't make that trip.

Just called Costco Tmobile to place the order.
The $35 activation fee is waived, and offered $100 Costco cash card for the upgrade.
I'm on Magenta Max, and I didn't expect we would get top-tier offer again. So happy to see this, and it might be the last time MMax get this kind of offer.

Did you just mention the promo to Costco and they did the order for you?

Called my Costco rep, unwilling to do over the phone because they wanted to check for water damage and physically see the trade in phones. Need to make the 45 min drive

is it better to get this deal at tmobile in costco? or getting it from Apple website. As I have chatted with Apple agents and he said that the trade-in is $800 and after 3 months of installment payments, I can pay in full to get it unlocked. Is is the same case with tmobile in costco?. p/s Im on Go5plus plan right now

I mentioned. The first agent didn't know what I was talking about. The 2nd agent acknowledge it upon checking.

Do they verify if you have valid costco membership? I only have online Costco account . Wondering if I can give this a shot as I am T-Mobile customer? Also how is the $100 costco virtual card paid? Can they send to same email as on T-mobile?
