I just applied and got denied with an 820 credit score but with over 30 cards and 0 debt
Cons: Customer service is not as consumer friendly as Chase or Amex
$250 travel credit has to be spent through their terrible portal, which is just a Hopper re-skin and routes reservations through 3rd parties (my last was an Expedia reservation). Most costs for the portal are higher than if you have an account with 3rd party sites like Booking, Agoda, or Priceline and CapOne will NOT match a logged-in price. There is no telephone customer service for booking.

Pros: Eno vendor specific CC numbers with number cancellation and holds are great for online signups
2 points per dollar spent and direct reimb. for travel using points at 1pt=1c is essentially a 2% cash back card if you travel
No foreign tx fees (for those who travel internationally)

If you travel a little, it's a good card. If you travel more than 3-4 times a year, especially if your preferred airport has a CapOne lounge, the VentureX is a better product to have ($395AF), but this is a good stop gap with a solid bonus.
What's in MY wallet? Too many cards. That's what CapOne tells me every time when they hard-pull all three bureaus to deny me with 800+ FICO.

Where would it show up on the app?

You can go directly to the capital one travel portal. Once you login, there's a banner telling you that they've added $250 to your travel credit balance.
If you want to check in the apps, go to the Benefits tab on the bottom > Discover travel & lounges > Choose account (if you have more than 1 C1 credit cards) > Book a trip, then it will take you to the travel portal. The travel credit banner will show up in the middle.

thanks again for all the info. Yeah I considered 95 to be free lol I have the Chase reserve American Express platinum and US Bank reserve so compared to those as it is free I just went and applied with my 840 credit score you know for preapproval and it said denied but it would happily let me transfer my $75,000 credit limit on my quicksilver card to venture X card but without the bonus of course

Yeah you consider it as free but you are talking in a public forum and it is not free so don't say it free otherwise you will confuse people.

Question - I have a friend who can refer me - I'd get 100,000 points instead of 75,000 points, but no $250 travel bonus. Based on the value of the points, there isn't really much of a difference is there? But technically, the points have more flexibility since the $250 spend must be used on their travel portal.

So is it right to say that a referral would be the better option vs this sign up bonus for the extra $250 travel credit?

yes, you are correct.
another difference is you need to spend 5k to get 100k points (thru referral link)
here, in public offer, you just need to spend 4k to get 75k points + $250 credit.

$250 credit - expires at the end of 1 year and miles will not
$250 credit - can be used only within their portal and it restricts my option to find best deals.

Ah thanks, I didn't realize its 5k spend for the referral. Thank you! Would you happen to know what the friend gets as a reward perk?

No, my question is, I see 100k miles, but after I try the pre approval, the final offer changes back to 75k plus 250 credit
I have same issue. preapproved shows 75k even the landing page before filling out form was 100k.

Anyone knows the trick to get 100k?

I tried pre approval couple of weeks back and was denied. Denied reason was i had a very high balance one one card 17K+. That was for me as authorised user and that brought my credit score down a bit 790+ and also reason said beuase of high balance. Now that card is paid off and my report doesn't show that balance. Any one has any idea is it good idea to try pre approval again or wait for few months for capital one?

Try again... What do you have to lose? It's not a hard pull

Anyone know how long it takes to get venture card and does it come in USP/Fedex express service or regular USPS? I know venture X came with 2 day/overnight shipping.

there are lot of referrals out there.. does it needs to be specific to this URL to get 100k? when going from general referral URL of a person it still shows 75k instead of 100k.

Do they have to generate a URL from this URL ( Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card [capitalone.com]) for us to get 100k?

Thanks

This comes within 10-15 days thru USPS and the problem is your 90 days starts on the same of the approval. Typically you will have only ~75 days to spend $4k.

This bank wants copies of drivers license, ss card and proof of address in order to activate the card. It's been 10 days since the acct was opened and they want 10 more days to review the uploaded documents in order to be able to use this card. By the time it's activated there's only 60 days to reach the spend limit. What POS bank.

Approved for the card, but with a $2000 credit limit. It will take forever to get the sign up bonus at this rate. Is there an option to cancel and remove the hard inquiries on the credit reports ?
why would it take forever? $2000 x 2 month.. you have 1 month still left to meet.
