$250 travel credit has to be spent through their terrible portal, which is just a Hopper re-skin and routes reservations through 3rd parties (my last was an Expedia reservation). Most costs for the portal are higher than if you have an account with 3rd party sites like Booking, Agoda, or Priceline and CapOne will NOT match a logged-in price. There is no telephone customer service for booking.
Pros: Eno vendor specific CC numbers with number cancellation and holds are great for online signups
2 points per dollar spent and direct reimb. for travel using points at 1pt=1c is essentially a 2% cash back card if you travel
No foreign tx fees (for those who travel internationally)
If you travel a little, it's a good card. If you travel more than 3-4 times a year, especially if your preferred airport has a CapOne lounge, the VentureX is a better product to have ($395AF), but this is a good stop gap with a solid bonus.

Can someone explain how to get this, cause I don't think I got this.
100k miles is equal to $500
But if u redeem 100k miles for eligible travel related purchases (flight, rental cars, hotel), then u will get full $1000.
Can someone explain how to get this, cause I don't think I got this.
copy pasting from this thread:
I was able to get my $250 Travel Credit after a month
You can see if your Travel Credit show up by
1. Go to the CaptialOne App
2. Click on the Venture Card
3. Scroll all the way down and click on "View Rewards and Benefits"
4. Click on Travel Portal "Book a Trip"
5. Click on "View Travel Credits"
NOTE: Seem like this Travel Credit will expired within a year once you get it

I have excellent credit and I already have the Venture X. What I've heard, however, is that I'm likely to get denied because I'm not the type of customer (never carry a balance and probably never will) that Capital One wants.
Anyone recently add this card to the Venture X?+
I got denied. I never been denied before either. Excellent score, numerous cards, under 5/24 etc. It felt pretty bad getting denied ngl. Waste of a hard inquiry.
There must be some specific thing that gets you denied. Probably because I have Venture X but I read others were able to get both. Maybe this deal was too good so they didn't want overlaps.
But why not, you get venture now and take 100k miles (or 75k miles plus $250) and
After few months, apply for a new venture X and get 75k miles ?
Upgrades will not get you sign up bonus miles.

There are good data points that people carry both cards.
Only way I see you will get denied is, you got VX just 1 or 2 months back

I've tried the pre-approval tool about a half dozen times. I only ever get offered a secured card.
I've had the VX for almost 2 years now.
