I was a T Mobile customer for 20+ years, and modern day T Mobile sucks - they literally suck money out of customers at every opportunity.
So I left for Visible Unlimited at 1/4 of the cost and haven't looked back.
800 off when trading in an old S10 sounds like a slick deal.

Offering $415 credit for a dusty old iPhone SE2 is pretty great.

I agree if you are looking only to upgrade a older device, simple.and easy way but that doesn't mean it is too good for everyone.
What people don't understand is they're paying for the phone with the inflated Magenta Max pricing every month. A XX/month credit is moot when you pay XX/month more for the Max plan.
Not a great of a deal as I was expecting, but I guess still worth it as my S22 Ulta's battery is just too weak these days.

T-mobile has been punishing 55+ and first responder plans with reduced trade-in values, so if you are getting the same trade-in values as regular plans without the promotion explicitly saying so, count that as a blessed mistake.
2) T-mobile's billing system doesn't care how many EIPs you have on a line. If you upgrade online or through the app, it won't ask you to pay off the old EIP unless you are trying to use it as a trade-in. If you try to upgrade from a person, the person may ask you to pay off the EIP.
Yes you know you're the real deal, but that agents in the other side of the phone doesn't. It's unfair for you to blame others on your own mistake while trying to protect your account.

In store - almost never waive activation fee unless you go to Costco
On the other hand, the reps at Costco did try to low to me about accessories required to waive activation fee. I told me to show me the disclaimer or whatever document they have to prove that to me, then they upgraded mine without activation fee and I did not buy any accessories.

THATS the issue ... you can't have it both ways and expect customers to not get pissed
