When I deactivated service, I actually transferred the number over to metro. Doesn't seem like I can just reactivate for a second month??

When you reactivated, was it using the same number? I ported mines out so curious if they would restart the 60 day count if I reactivated service.

Any other data points? I activated mine on 03/04/2025. Plan expired on 04/03/2025.

As of this morning 05/03/2025 (60 days), https://sickw.com/ reports sim is locked.

I'll probably give it another day or two just to make sure it doesn't unlock on its own and then buy another month of service.

Please report back, today is day 59 for me and I hate the idea of paying $30 because they changed their policy after we activated.

I'm reading mixed responses on their reddit. It seems like it'll still unlock under the old policy but people are convinced they need to buy another month. It seems like straight answers are hard to come by so I'm looking forward to your experience. my hope is day 61 (since I initially activated it pretty late in the evening) it'll automatically unlock. I have a gut feeling it'll unlock but nobody ever waits until day 61 to truly test it. Thank you for being patient and willing to give it a true test.

If I need to buy a month, I will on the one for my mom but the second one (mine) I'll go the FCC complaint route to see what happens. she's on the iPhone XS and it's on its last leg so it's a lot more important.

It's usually the 61st day from my findings. Others might say something else but I've had two iPhones unlock right at 61 days. This was way before this terms change.

Good info thanks! I will definitely give it a few days and see what happens before paying for another month. I'll update the thread with whatever happens.

There is a report on reddit of a 16e activated March 1st unlocking automatically without 2nd month of service this morning (3rd). It's only a single datapoint, but it's a glimmer of hope.

Service activated Mar 4, 2025; remains locked as of May 3, 2025 (60 days). Only first month paid. Will edit this tomorrow to update what happens for me on the 61st day after activation.

EDIT: Today May 4, 2025, I bought another service plan after talking to a support agent. Waiting to see if it unlocks soon.

EDIT2: Today May 5, 2025. They are telling me I need to wait until June 3rd for it automatically unlock.

EDIT3: Today May 5, 2025. Contacted them again. Need to wait until June 3.

I activated on March 4th. Going to try waiting until Wednesday or so and will also update if I have success. I'd rather not pay them more on principle, because this is nonsense.

61 days, only 1 month paid, still locked.
Called the unlocking dept, they said they'd wipe their ass with any complaint fillings, and I would need to get the cheapest plan, at least they were pretty honest and respectful about it.
Unlocked within an hour of purchasing the $30 plan.
Will be streaming hi res videos every night on repeat, f*ck ST and TFW.

One more data point.
I bought two 16e during the deal and activated both on March 4th. I bought a second month with one of the devices last night and woke up to that phone unlocked. The phone without service remains locked.
I am now trying to transfer the eSIM to the second phone to unlock it without having to pay for a second plan…. First attempt says that it's not supported or some nonsense.
