I got this mouse in 2020 it was really good for the time especially hitting some tough COVID days. However, 2-3 months ago it started flaking out on me and not tracking correctly. I did use it a lot so i'd say a mouse doing good for 4+ years is not bad at all. I paid around $60 for it then so $35 is a great deal.

Have this but don't use it because it doesn't fit my use case with FPS gaming.
I have the G602 and wish they still made it (even though the middle mouse click button fails too quickly).
Having the 6 side buttons I can hit with my thumb is extremely useful which I use for things like open/close map, change firing rate, zoom in n out, flash light, ping, etc.

While I can't speak to the Hero version, I have been using the same G502 Proteus since late 2016.

Bought this earlier in the week at Best buy with 20% recycling trade in of an old mice. Came out to $31.02 after tax. One thing to note is in store is $1 more but you can probably price match it.
How does one find this trade in program online?

Go to the Best buy link and select the 20% off banner at the top or try this link:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/logi...9080616911

You cannot trade in online since you need to go into a physical store to drop off the mice.

Double click issues have plagued these. When I contacted their support about two of my mice they said "too bad so sad". Logitech has dropped massively in quality over the years and they don't back up their products.

I've used the 502 for a long time. It does track goofy from time to time, and I turn it over and clean the light on the bottom, talk nicely to it for a second or two and all is well. Be sure to keep these mice clean, including the sliders on the bottom, the center light and around the buttons. The most comfortable mouse I've ever owned. (I have a razer in a box here too.) GL!

A few years ago, I had the dreaded double click issue too. Bought another (on sale) and a few months later it had the same problem. Called tech support and another one showed up a few days later. All in all, not bad. But I guess YMMV with any tech support.

Ditto, I have a Proteus as well from so long ago I don't remember when. Still working perfectly. Went from the 518 to this, I'd say I've had an excellent run with Logitech mice.

I use it for office work. Heavy and comfortable. Button to change sensitivity is annoying since I do not need it

You can disable this with the g pro sw and then load it on to the mouse's on board memory.

If you get this do yourself a favor and get a mouse bungee. It's a little contraption that holds the wire above your mousepad in the front so the wire doesn't tangle and drag. I use one with my G203 and it feels 90% wireless, only sometimes when I do big fast swipes at the top of my mousepad do I feel the wire, but it's not a big deal. I have the G Pro Wireless so it's not like I don't know what it's like having a wireless mouse.

Do you need to leave 3rd party software installed to program the buttons?

I bought this mouse for like $50 a month ago. It's a great mouse, replaced a $90 Nightsword that failed after 3 years.

I bought this deal from Amazon and received it last Thursday. I've been using it for office work and Pillars of Eternity. Having all of the extra buttons on the left side is helpful as I was previously using a Logitech G Pro Wireless with two buttons on the right side. The ergonomics are nice and the wire doesn't inhibit movement. The scroll wheel also tilts left or right for horizontal scrolling. I'd definitely recommend this deal @ $35.
