Awesome deal, Im still running my Alienware Aurora R7 with liquid cooling from like 2018. Upgraded from a GTX1080 to a RTX3070. Not a single issue with this PC. I run it for about 8+ hours a day and often max out the CPU and GPU from gaming yet ive never had an issue with overheating even when my office was 90+ degrees

We just had a 4070 pc for 900 last week and what was the point of you bringing up 2k? No one should buy this 4k/8k card to play at 2k. The point is 50 series is not worth it at this price.
Where's this $900 system with a 4070 you're talking about?

Pretty sure that's made up since it would be sold at a loss.

I did know that the Premiere editing workflow is mostly CPU intensive but didn't want to make the description of my scenario too lengthy. I probably should have said Adobe video editing suite because I do use After Effects a fair amount, and it kills me how long some output renderings take.

I have a pretty powerful PC laptop from a few years back but I'm ready to anchor down with a desktop again for editing. The thermal throttling just isn't worth the portability tradeoff. I didn't know about QuickSync so that's useful to know. It's just a bummer that this system doesn't have integrated graphics to facilitate it because I'm 99% sure I'm going to pull the trigger on this build. Beyond video editing I have plenty of other use cases for a powerful GPU so I know it'll get used. I just hope the new CPUs and GPUs gets supported fully soon. When I checked it seemed like the 5080 would not be fully supported by Adobe for a little while. Thanks.
Typically, any support or lack thereof would be due to the driver, unless there's a new feature that is architecture specific.

You'll see performance improvements where there's GPU dependency.

If you need to free up your workstation, distributed rendering is the way to go.

Ok tell me what game do u need for this card for 4k?
A simple google search reveals benchmarks at Tom's Hardware that say that the RTX 5090 returns 63 FPS at 4k in Black Myth: Wukong. And that's with Ray Tracing off.

Steam survey says 4% of gamers (on their platform) play at 4k.

Definitely a niche market, still.
And the 5090 is definitely a niche card.

Wait until you find out what the most used video card on steam is.

The number of users playing games at 4k is irrelevant since most cards are incapable of it. But that is where gamers are moving, along with raytracing (which the average card used on steam still can't really do).
