Pretty sure that's made up since it would be sold at a loss.
I have a pretty powerful PC laptop from a few years back but I'm ready to anchor down with a desktop again for editing. The thermal throttling just isn't worth the portability tradeoff. I didn't know about QuickSync so that's useful to know. It's just a bummer that this system doesn't have integrated graphics to facilitate it because I'm 99% sure I'm going to pull the trigger on this build. Beyond video editing I have plenty of other use cases for a powerful GPU so I know it'll get used. I just hope the new CPUs and GPUs gets supported fully soon. When I checked it seemed like the 5080 would not be fully supported by Adobe for a little while. Thanks.
You'll see performance improvements where there's GPU dependency.
If you need to free up your workstation, distributed rendering is the way to go.
Based on your previous comments, it sure sounds like you're making it up as you go along.

Definitely a niche market, still.

The number of users playing games at 4k is irrelevant since most cards are incapable of it. But that is where gamers are moving, along with raytracing (which the average card used on steam still can't really do).
