Be sure to research T-Mobile's locking policy and the fine print of the agreement. Basically you are locking yourself and the phone for 2 years with absolutely no way to unlock it, you can't pay off early, and you will be stuck with T-Mobile for years or you lose the bill credits.

See previous threads here on T-Mobile. They have become really consumer unfriendly in the last couple of years.
1) To check if your plan qualifies, log in and see if you have the promotion... verify by submitting your trade-in phone estimate. It's common sense. YES, most likely Simple Choice plan will qualify for this.

2) Phone cannot be cracked in the screen and no moisture/water damage. Also, cannot have destroyed pixels and dead spots. The back of the phone can have some wear & tear and cracks.

3) Best deal is to buy a Samsung S10 from eBay for your trade-in. This promotion will probably last another two weeks based on what they are saying from the subreddit.

4) You can get $100 Costco cashcard for being a Costco member. You can call or in-store. I've done both. I would probably call as it was quicker and just as simple. You also don't need to bring the phone with you. Just an IMEI. Just make sure the phone you are submitting qualifies or else you're going to be in a heap of trouble submitting the IMEI of a phone that might come cracked, etc.,

5) You can ship your trade-in phone or bring it in to a T-Mobile corporate store. Just tell them you have a phone to trade in... They will do basic checks and automatically approve your phone for trade-in on the spot. Saves you the hassle of UPS losing your trade-in phone during shipment.

Most of these questions have been asked... Just look at the old T-Mobile thread from two weeks ago.
Sprint would have free new iPhones with trade-ins with same 2 year commitment. T-Mobile also a few years back. This, their best offer, plain sucks!

if I take the deal and trade in a pixel 6 for iphone 16e, it looks like i am getting the full $500 off, which is an amazing deal.
question -- does this obligate tmobile to rate lock my plan then, if I am getting bill credits for the phone? or can they change the terms on my plan and I am forced to pay a higher rate for the plan or pay off the phone and leave? I am asking because it is actually offering me the $500 and I am on some insanely cheap kickstarter plans right now...

Please help, I traded my phone through Costco, left the store and received the text form T Mobile stating that thanks for trading your IPhone with a trade in value of $0.00.
Is this normal, can someone let me know who has traded through Costco if that's the case!
TIA

T-Mobile plans to raise prices on legacy plans; consider carefully before signing a 2-year contract.

I believe, that's correct. They don't take your trade-in phone at Costco, they only inspect it. It will change only after you make the actual trade-in. Remember, you only have 30 days to submit it.

Would they be able to change your rate if you still paying off the phone though is what I am wondering. Or does the 2 yr contract work both ways

If they increase the rates and you choose to leave, you will lose the remaining bill credits. And you would also have to pay the remaining balance on the phone immediately.

I feel like they got sued for this and lost years ago and are doing it again but this time calling it a bill credit instead of a contract.

Why is iphone14 more expensive than 16e? Is the 14 a better phone?

My final monthly payment at Costco was higher. $20 monthly at Tmobile and $27 monthly at Costco/Tmobile. The Rep tried to explain it, but it seemed like a lot of smoke and mirrors. So in the end after the gift card and waived activation fee it's a wash. Did anyone else have the same experience?

I'm trading in a 13pro for a 16pro. Monthly is for 24 months. The guys at Costco said they take out $165 and apply it to the price of the phone. and give you $335 in bill credits.

Bad deal

You need to trade in the cheapest (Samsung S10e) from ebay $100- then sell the 13 pro for hundreds of dollars

Never trade in an expensive phone- you are getting only a $200 discount in effect- not $400

I did this with my 14 pro max

$1330 inc tax+ $110 for s10e- $500 credit, $550 from sale of 14PM……$100 costco gift card…..

One of the first statements in that link is "take it with a grain of salt". Perhaps a little premature to ring the alarm bells.

Anyone tried this deal at an Apple store? I am on the One plan, just tried it at apple.com, but wasn't able to replicate the deal. Like others have said, it will be best if we are able to order via apple.com or in store to get an unlocked iPhone.
Just FYI. I bought an unlocked iPhone at the Apple store. When I registered it on T-Mobile, they locked my phone. Had to pull teeth to get it unlocked again.

Wow. Did you purchase it with an installment plan?
