Yes, mid 2025. Longer range tracking, 3 times the range. https://www.macrumors.com/guide/airtags-2/

I was able to get it down to $58 including shipping

Step 1 - Go to CardBear or any gift card reseller to buy $60 worth of Best Buy gift card for 10% off
* You can only apply up to 10 Best Buy gift cards so don't buy small value gift cards
* Best Buy CC also gives 5%, but you also get 2% back on buying the discounted gift card with your regular CC so buying the gift card is a better deal.

Step 2 - Go to Best Buy and add the Airtags for $64.49

Step 3 - Make sure to use your discounted gift cards to pay for it

Final Price comes out to $58 Shipped!

You're a genius, I'll have my friends do this right now since I already have one of these (4-Pack of AirTags). Thanks Kenji.

These are really nice to track luggage handled by airlines. On my last international flight, one airline left my luggage at a transit point overseas and I was able to track it real time until it was delivered to my door.

Gonna pick some of these up. I know the new ones will be better but they will also be more expensive and these are probably more than fine to find keys and luggage

A little off topic, but I'm curious about something. We bought some of these a few years ago to track a couple of bags from Birmingham to Seattle, with a layover at Midway. Since I'm an Android guy, my wife added both to her Find My account.

When we landed at Midway, one bag showed up there, but the other one was still showing as being in Birmingham. We kept waiting to see if it'd refresh, but it stayed that way, although we noticed that the time it was last seen was right before takeoff. Still, I was thinking it was sitting on the ground where our plane had been, but I figured I couldn't report it lost until we couldn't find it in Seattle. So we kept checking on it until right before takeoff from Midway. The other bag showed as loaded, but this one was still in Birmingham. Except it wasn't. We landed in Seattle, my wife turned on her phone, and there were both bags, right on the plane where they were supposed to be.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like that?

Probably the Find My network did not connect with that particular Airtag.

Odd. I did not have to provide any info like that. Was pretty straightforward. 🤷 ♂️

A new version of the AirTag, known as AirTag 2, is expected to launch in mid-2025, featuring an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip for improved tracking range and enhanced privacy features. While the design is likely to remain similar, these updates aim to address user feedback and improve overall functionality.
