"The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8/G80SD S32DG80 is outstanding for PC gaming. It has a high 240Hz refresh rate, and motion also looks extremely sharp, thanks to its near-instantaneous response time. Additionally, it has low input lag at its max refresh rate. Its near-infinite contrast ratio and perfect black uniformity are ideal for dark room gaming, as blacks look deep and inky. It also gets bright enough for highlights to pop, and colors look rich and vivid. Though it doesn't have noticeable VRR flicker if you use VRR Control, this feature significantly increases input lag."
"The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8/G80SD S32DG80 is superb for console gaming. It has perfect compatibility with the PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S, as it has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, and it supports all console features. Because of its near instantaneous response time, it delivers a very crisp image, and its low input lag creates a responsive feel. It also provides outstanding picture quality with deep and inky blacks, as well as bright and vivid colors."

Some reviews also compare this monitor to others using the same panel but without the matte coating and they point out how it makes everything less sharp and appear like the colors a smearing
Can you elaborate more? What were some of the reasons you decided to return it? In your opinion, did it appear bright when gaming in HDR?
Had to return mine

Whites were nowhere near as white or bright as I can get with my current VA monitor. They looked more like a sickly yellowish white. I spent about 4 hours tuning this thing to about where I wanted it but when I finally got it suitably white/bright enough the eyestrain was profound. That doesn't work for me as I spend about 7 hours every day in excel, (which I am 100% certain would also lead to burn in with that much time looking at gridlines every day).
Now, for only gaming would I like it? It did make Monster Hunter Wilds look amazing but all Samsung monitors have that heavy oversaturation which sometimes looks great and sometimes looks just weirdly off. I maybe would have kept it but it did flicker quite a bit in several different games and just straight up would not handle framegen correctly (incessant flicker) in several titles, but my old LG VA monitor handled them no problem at all. At the end of the day the small benefit wasn't worth $900 for me.
