Finally settling down to a reasonable price point. These things are great for any task that requires high amps but not long amp hours. Use it all the time on my DCF923 impact for example.

Are these any smaller (in physical size) than the 5ah Powerstack batteries?

How do I know what tools required what type of amps? Or best tool for that amount of amps.

Just bought these. This deal is ridiculous. I got 2 last year for $90. Acme has the 3ah Powerstacks so hopefully they'll get out in the wild soon.

I'm guessing high torque motors ( impact/hammer drills , saws) are higher amp whereas these batteries would not be good for a leaf blower or a drill used for drywall.

bout the same but itty bitty teeny weeny. these things are smal. cain't even get the second L in there. The 2ah's aren't exactly chunkos but these 1.7's are lighter and smaller- and allegedly "more powerful" but idk if I or anyone else I know would be able to tell if one has more geddyup than the other.

Anything power detect or flexvolt advantage, also most higher end impacts, drills and saws will benefit from more amps. Dewalts newest tools in particular have really been designed to be able to take advantage of extremely high amp discharge rates. The torque test channel on YouTube has reviews of lots of tools and shows how different batteries affect their performance.
