I completely agree. This smells like Barbasol shaving cream. Bought the smaller bottle for $77 at Kohls, and gave it to my dad. To me, it's an older man scent, like 60s+.

You Costco zombies are funny. But yeah, what I bought was an obvious dupe. I then reached out to the manufacturer of the cologne to confirm, and they told me that Costco is not an authorized retailer or reseller, and that they do not sell their cologne there.
It's not fake but definitely not the same as retail version from authorized retailers. The scent doesn't last as long as retail store. I tried creed from Costco and it would only last a few hours while the retail store can last you through out the day.

Just a heads up to say that the last purchase of cologne from Costco that I bought was certainly fake/inauthentic.
I'll Co-Sign On This,

"Potentially". I jumped on the deal for Versace Man Eau Fraiche Eau de Toilette a couple months ago. This stuff can NOT(!!!) be real...or...It is absolute trash. Which I don't think is the case since I see so many people rave about it. Not even sure it lasts longer than the Nautica Voyage I bought from Walmart in another "deal" here. Which is probably about 30 minutes???
Just my two cents.

You hear people complain about lack of perfume longevity all the time, its nothing new. There are many factors why cologne doesn't "last". Most common reason is the extra dry skin in a dry environment (winter), very dry skin literally soaks up anything you spray on it. Another common reason is your nose gradually turns anosmic to the smell and you can no longer pick up the scent. Another common reason is often brand new releases or new batches of perfumes need a little more time to mature (macerate) to produce its full longevity, many find with time perfumes just get better and longer lasting.

'Versace Man Eau Fraiche Eau de Toilette' <<< 'Eau de Toilette' means from the toilet in French

It's Costco. If you're not satisfied with it, return it. Just don't use to the last drop or something and try to return it.

Can't speak on whether Costco sells fake cologne or not. I have purchased in club the Creed Viking and Jazz Club. The Creed is very strong and lasts all day. No problems with the Jazz Club either. It would be a strange decision by Costco to tarnish their reputation by selling this one fake product. Perhaps the diamonds and watches are all fake as well.

I second that. Also, EDT will wear out sooner than EDP. Also, trick people can use is use body lotion before spray. Will last a lot longer. And dont just spray few times. If you want last longer, spray more on to skin and inner clothes.

I bought aventus from costco too and had the same problem, but it's ridiculous to assume it's because it's fake. Pretty commonly known that their older batches are much stronger, hence why people pay a large premium for old batches on ebay.
Costco is selling authentic products.

This is like when they were selling Rolex or Omega watches. They are 100% real despite not being an authorized dealer of either brand. They would come with costco warranties. This is how grey market products are sold (See: Jomashop)

They're absolutely not selling fake items. These people think they're experts but are so uninformed they don't understand how grey market products work.
