No, don't just do it, this is poor advice..

Remember people this 77 inch G4 just went on sale in the middle of January for 2200 through the LG member store: https://slickdeals.net/f/18053226-lg-partner-store-77-lg-oled77g4wua-g4-series-oled-evo-smart-tv-2200-free-shipping?src=SDSearchv3&attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3ATrue%7CSearch%3AType%3Anormal%7CSearch%3ASort%3Arelevance%7CSearch%3AHideExpired%3Afalse and before that 2371 on Black Friday...

Just wait till the G5 officially launches very soon: preorders are live in the UK at the same retail price as the G4 did when it was first released.

If 200-600 dollars in savings is nothing for you then this is good advice, otherwise: HOLD THE LINE!!

The brightness. The G5's are using a 4 stack oled panel for a major brightness increase with reduced power usage and heat.

Initial G5 numbers are looking so good... But it won't be this price any time soon.

Is this better than Samsung OLED or Sony Bravia OLED? I have a q990d SB, will this work just as fine?
Rtings comparison tool is great for questions like this.

The G5 panel is a significant upgrade from the G4. In addition to large improvements in white and color luminance, the panel is supposed to have almost 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage and with a 20% reduction in power consumption (compared to the 3rd gen WOLED panel with MLA+)

Damn tariffs! I still don't think this is a god price for the tv.

Should be more like $1400 max for the 65". Maybe $2k for the 77".

How does this compare to the c4 model?

Just do it. So what if the G5 is coming out? No matter what, you're always going to be behind in tech. Guess what… The G6 is coming out next year. You gonna wait for the 5 to come out, then wait another 8 months for it to start dropping to prices like this, and then decide that since you've waited that long, you can wait for the 6, and so on? The perpetual waiting that some people do on here cracks me up.
I've been waiting for a $2000 deal on a best in tech flagship TV since the Pioneer plasma 60". The problem is, those tvs never get down to $2k before the newest flagship TV renders the previous flagship TV tech obsolete and often sell out completely by the time they reach that price. I'd settle for a sony Bravia XR A95L 77" for $3000 or an LG G4 83" for $3500 but now that the G5 is coming out I'm less inclined to spend anything until the G5 prices drop.
