You'll only get 20gbps if you have a recent computer that has USB 3.2 x 2. Otherwise you'll get 10gbps if you'll get 10gbps for most of them (USB 3.1), or else possibly 5gbps if it only has USB 3.0. If you only need (or can only use) 10gbps, cases like this that are USB 3.1 regularly come on sale for less than this.

These aren't too bad, and they do have a button to turn on/off the rainbow vomit.
BTW, The lighting is more than just décor. It's an activity indicator, too.

2 negatives I found w/ the the last example of this enclosure:
1. The PCB and USB<-NVMe bridge chip, have 0 thermal conduction to the aluminum chassis. At least w/ other 'no name' units that are also like this, that's an eventual death sentence for the adapter.
2. The LEDs can overdraw older ports (which, its otherwise compatible w/) or, poor quality cable droops power, etc. [Turning off the LEDs typically resolved the issue, even on an old Athlon K8's USB2.0 ports]

IMO, invest in some thermal putty to go along with any NVMe enclosure
to make sure the bridgechip *and* your NVMe drive both get some cooling from the aluminum. enclosure.

The other common complaints w/ this drive are IMHO, non-issues.
-the 'uselessness' of Gen3.2x2 capability.
-the length/quality of the included cable
-the lack of included XYZ cable/USB adapter

For $30? There might be arguably 'better deals' out there for a 10Gbps enclosure, but this really ain't bad.

In China, $30 is enough to get a 40gbps case

I have a similar enclosure. I treat this basically as a usb thumb drive on steroids. I would never leave this connected 24/7 because of the lack of cooling. Because of that, it never gets hot like ever. Just doing short back ups. And maybe 1-2gb most of the time. And 10gb at the most at any one given time. And then safely remove and disconnect from the pc

FYI USB 3.1 and 3.0 don't exist anymore, they've been retroactively renamed to USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB 3.2 Gen 1

Ah yes, that's true, I still see the old naming conventions thrown around quite a bit, but you're correct.
