PSA: Be careful if you're scheduled to pickup on Friday. The activation timer may starts on Friday but the CS aren't availble on weekends, which means you only have whatever hours left on Friday to attempt cancelling the line.

Nothing to add about this deal, but I got this phone a couple months ago and I have to say it's the best phone I've ever used. My wife got a Iphone 16 pro max and the camera on the Pixel 9 pro XL puts it to shame - especially when zoomed in. And the battery is usually around 40% when I go to bed at night after heavy use all day.

So if you're on the fence about this phone, don't be - you'll love it!

Curious...why did folks choose to port-in a GV number for this deal? I ordered online last night and did store pickup this morning...no port-in.
I did the GV port in. I put the hundreds of pages of thread into chatgpt/claude and they seemed to suggest that people were running into problems if they wanted to buy online and did not do a port-in, as in you were not able to checkout.

I'm glad yours went smoothly, your approach would have been my preference but I was tired last night and didn't have time or energy to experiment much.

Just wondering - why did you activate the lines? I do not see anything that I have to activate them. I have the phone and the Sim card, but I plan on just tossing the Sim.
No, as soon as your order is ready or shipped, yr line is already created regardless you put it in the phone or not. Since they don't have yr payment on file, it probably will get canceled in 1-2 months due to late payment. It may affect yr credit.

You can cancel it once it ships or you pick it up from store. You will want to do that within 3 days to avoid activation fee.
Picked up one today from store, they game me a Verizon Sim Card along with the phone, how do I cancel the Verizon service since I went with new number but has no Verizon Wireless account.

You would have to create a new Verizon account. If you don't know your mobile number, you may need to pop the SIM card in to a phone which would activate it. After that you can call customer service and cancel the line.

I ordered on Sunday. Is that mean I have to pick up before Wednesday to avoid activation charge? And what happen if we dont pick up the item, will AT&T still charge me ?
The line is activated right before/during your pickup and your 3 days counter starts from that time. If a line is activated ATT will keep charging you unless you cancel.

If you don't have an existing account with ATT and VZW, the only way to do this all online is to port a number. For a new number you would have to go to store.

I didn't have a Verizon account.
I got a new number. Ordered online...pickup at store. Is that what you meant?

Can I cancel the ATT line before picking up the phone? I can see my GV number in the ATT account and it seems it's already activated. I am waiting for my trade in device to arrive, hence cannot pickup as of now. Anyone please?

You are talking about activating the phone/SIM on the line which is not needed but the line is already active when you picked up which is what you neee to cancel.

Has anyone gotten charged extra for the phone by Best Buy after cancelling service?

The Best Buy employee tonight mentioned that might be a possibility, but that certainly didn't seem like the guidance from this thread.

Will it be possible to add a line to a closed account in ATT ? I opened and closed an account the same day after pick up, but just wondering if I need to get to another device . Would it allow ? Anyone had any experience ?
