Ordered the phone for pick up 2 days ago. Chose to port in my visible number to ATT. Received 2 messages from ATT claiming the port out information is incorrect (I recall bestbuy never asked for them except the phone number). Just picked the phone and the ATT sim-card. Went home and logged into the ATT account, ATT showed suspended account, no upcoming payment or bill. Contacted ATT, they said the port is failed.
Should I do the port then cancel my ATT account? (CR says I need to call the port in department)
Or, directly remove this account? (Can do this on the website)
Or, just ignore it?
B.S. Call in to obtain your account number. You will need to have the Sim card installed in an unlocked phone so that you can receive a text to confirm your identity.
Ask for supervisor , get I.d.'s and case number ask them to email you confirmation of cancellation. Don't take no for an answer. then immediately file an FCC complaint online which is easy to do and one with state regulator.
If they later bill you the above will support your right to dispute. Many states require that wireless carrier must cancel on request within a set number of days. And you can refer to Verizon's published policy which their CSR's deny.
My experience with Verizon's Visable was much better, Good tech support when wi-fi calling would not work and they sent out a free replacement Sim 2 day air.
