Just mentioned what I seen and people been posting, confirm it with your best buys but it might just be remainder of warranty or minimum 3 months. I guess when time comes and Asus asks for the receipt you will know for sure. People already been having problems with Asus warranty so this is not surprising to me if they did go this route. They have taken a lot of heat for their warranty support in the last year. Still one of my favorite brands but still better to know what you are buying instead of being surprised later cause you didnt ask.
Yes, it's p well reported especially due to people who bought open-box Asus ROG Ally units: "This Warranty applies only if the Product was newly manufactured on the Date of Purchase and not sold as used, refurbished or manufacturing seconds." Really wish Gamers Nexus had reported on this. A bit sneaky since Best Buy and MyAsus will state 1 year.

This is a great machine if you want a Surface Pro type tablet/laptop. Personally I find I can't use them well on my laptop on the couch but it works for others.

I picked one up - for the price it seems like it might fit my mobile use case for something when I travel. I would prefer a surface pro - but for price this seems just fine.

I think it matters, too, if the previous owner already registered it with ASUS. If that's the case, you may be completely out of luck.
I got the 14" Vivobook open box fair that was registered by the previous owner. I contact Asus technical support and after sending them my receipt as well as pictures of the device and serial number cleared the registration for me and I was able to register my laptop. Warranty shows good till 12 2025 so looks to be one year from when they registered it and not from when I bought it this month.

It sort of seems that BB sends to ASUS the date a product is sold. The last 2 ASUS laptops were not user-registered but when I registered them, I did not get 1 YR. I got, what I would presume, what is left from when it was originally sold.

I have heard a fellow SD'er getting the run around from both BB and Asus when making a warranty claim (while still within warranty period). BB points the customer to Asus while Asus points to BB to perform the warranty. It really shouldn't be this opaque and frustrating. Be extra careful when buying open-box Asus from BB.

my Best Buy warranty should cover it for two years, so if you already have that then you're good.

Is this deal likely to come back? Overall price went back up ($300) discount gone, so open box price went back up to the $800s too...
