It is 60 days from activation. Once you get the phone activate it and after that send text to 611611 asking "unlock" it should come back with date. Did iphone 13 in Nov last year.

Can I buy and not renew the service for a second month?
I just the phone for some apps, don't need it unlocked, will not need it for phone service.
Yes. Just double check that autopay is off. By default, it is. And it will unlock automatically after 60 days.

Love it!!! Tell me more pls. Did you sign up using the TMO-life app?
When I tried it, the first screen it asked me to create a log in, and after that it's just showing some 5g-go plans options. Nothing for the free trial.
i think it's a different ap. you probably have to websearch to find it, it's been a while. i forgot. i think it might be called the testdrive ap not sure

Does this phone have all the bands to work with T-Mobile or Mint Mobile after the 60 days is up? Or is it missing some like carrier phones tend to do?

You can, of course, look up the frequencies it covers on any number of sites. Motorola tends to make their phones about as universal as possible. There are "hidden" settings that activate different bands. My experience with an Edge I got from Total, is that it works perfectly with Mint/T-MOBILE., and data speeds are faster on T-Mobile then Verizon mmwave

not IP68 rated..no rating at all
no Gorilla Glass protection
dull LCD screen with 500nits max brightness (vs the Samsung A16 at 800+ nits, AMOLED screen) and IP54 for splashes.
Moving up to last years A54 or A35 (free at Total with port) is a big step up in performance from the Moto Power or A16. Camera with the A35 is excellent and leaves my Power and A16 behind as well as other specs too (gorilla glass Victus, IP67 waterproof, bright 1,000 nits AMOLED screen. I'm hanging on to this one for awhile.

That's going to require a trip to the store.

I chose the additional line for the existing customers and got the phone for $40. With Chase offer it would be $30!

Yes. Pay the one month, get the free phone. Let the one month of service expire (no autopay) wait another month and then unlock.

Noob here. So after one month of service, there is no longer any commitment to their monthly $50 plan?

I have a OnePlus n10 for 4 years, it's starting to fall apart. Should I upgrade to this phone? or should I wait ?

I like that it has wireless charging, but the CPU is media tek which was overheating in my past experience with mediatek CPU. The rest of the specs are similar.

I have to admit that I've been impressed with the G Power, cheap phone owner perspective here, so ymmv. I passed on the deal back in Nov. because I avoid phones with MTs - this was my first. Finally, I broke down in Feb. and got one. It's very nice. Only been using it lightly so can speak to stress testing it but haven't heard about any overheating. At $50, you aren't risking much if it doesn't meet your standards.
