Thanks for the post!! I've been watching prices since hesitating on BF and kicking myself. $280 at Adorama and $290 everywhere else, and I would've jumped at those prices but checked the Samsung app after seeing this post and and got 2 for $255 each through the app. Shipping is slow compared to Prime, but I'm happy so long as they arrive unscathed and I don't have to hassle with a return.

Price showed as $279.99 and when I went to check out the first time they were $279.99. I closed/reopened the app and when I went back in, it gave me an extra $50 off. This may have been the $50 off $500 deal for first-time app users (not sure).

Generally you would have signed up for a samsung account and verified yourself as a student, healthcare worker, or employee of a company with a partner program (https://www.samsung.com/us/business/partners/). I am seeing 251.99 when I login with my account that is verified through the corporation I work for.

Just a word of caution. I picked up the 4TB SSD w/ heatsink for my Dell G16 laptop a couple of months ago. I'm now getting intermittent BSOD with the UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION stop code. It looks like it's a hardware related issue, and other users have noted this issue occurring as well, though with different stop codes. I don't know how prevalent this is, or whether Samsung will warranty the SSD out for me.

Last time I ordered an SSD from Samsung it came in a small, thinly padded envelope. FedEx left it at the base of my mailbox and the wind blew it into the bushes about 30-40 feet into my yard. I almost didn't see it.

FYI they have the model with heat sink for $20 more (probably $18 more after the healthcare discount. You can get cheaper heat sinks on Amazon but this would avoid the hassle. Although I tend to like SSDs without a heat sink in case I want to move them to a main board or riser card that has a built in heat sink where I would have to remove the factory heat sink and likely void the warranty.

If you purchased it and couple of months ago and you think it may be a defective drive, why do you think Samsung wouldn't warranty it out for you??

i cannot state this enough, this thing runs HOT.

I bought one of these heatsinks:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09X2YF...e_0_0&th=1

and I even replaced the thermal pad with an aftermarket gelid one, and it can still hit 55C during gaming sessions.

I do assume it's because my GPU runs hot and the heatsink soaks it up, but it was even higher than 55C with my motherboard's heatsink.

Just a heads up on this.

Did you update the firmware?

It's always the first thing to do with a new drive.

Some updates are destructive and require formatting, though, so make sure you backup your data.
