I used my ID once and it never let me use it again for another deal, it seems the ID quota is only one.

Reps to who can tell me the best way to get a new phone number to port in for this deal.

I don't plan on using the phone for actual cell service, so unlocking is not necessary. I just want a decent android device to use. Thanks in advance!

Update: I ordered a number for $5 from numberbarn, enabled SMS on it, then was able to port it to order this Motorola Edge for free + $55 the plan. Thanks FabulousStranger526!

On April 26th, automatic unlocking did not work, so I called on the 29th and took the $10 plan.

But today, May 20th, it was automatically unlocked. I don't know why.

I have question regarding unlock with new policy, please help me if you know or if you have experience.

1st question: -- If I stop service after 1st month, then reactivate after some days with same phone number (during grace period), or get a new number from total wireless for another one or two months, will this unlock this phone?

2nd question: -- If I brick it (removing the sim comin with the phone after 1st month), then reactivate it after some days with active service for another couple months, will this unlock the phone?

3rd question: -- I checked IMEI on all major providers and some MVNOs, it says the phone is compatible (still showing locked to network now). Does this mean this phone can be used on other providers or not? Or can be possibly used on Verizon and Verizon associated MVNOs.

Thanks! Any comments are welcome!

How many days between that phone's activation date and May 20th?

Answer for 3rd question: A Compatibility Check only tells you whether or not the phone is Compatible with the provider in question (e.g. T-mobile, Mint, etc). If the phone is still locked, it won't accept a SIM from a provider not in the TF/ST/TW/etc Family even if the check says it's Compatible.

The activation date was around February 25th, and April 26th was the 60th day, which was the day when automatic unlocking should have taken place.

But automatic unlocking didn't work, so I called.

I already knew that the unlocking policy had changed, so I asked them to just do the $10 plan, and they did it right away.

Originally, automatic unlocking was supposed to take place on May 29th, but it was done a little faster. I don't know why.

I can't explain the timing of your unlock. But in another forum, there are reports of phones that were activated with a 30-day plan, went inactive, then reactivated a short time later with a 2nd month, and were unlocked on the 60th day from activation date. My 1st TW Moto Edge 2024 was activated on 3/28, went inactive on 4/28, reactivated with a $10 plan on 5/9. I don't know if it will be unlocked around 5/28 (60th day from original activation date) or 6/9 (when it completes 60 days of paid service). I will post the result later.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the Edge 2024, but I bought an A36 from Total Wireless and activated it on May 19th

The next day, the Edge 2024 was unlocked

For android phone, like moto edge 2024 from total wireless, after 60 days of active service, does it automatically unlock or I have to TW to unlock? And do I have to keep the service active if I have to call them to unlock it? I heard iPhone automatically unlocks. Thanks!

It's a good idea to read info of deal at beginning of thread:
"Device will unlock automatically 60 days after plan activation"

It won't unlock automatically this time. I bought 2 and one was activated on 3-28-2025 and the other was on 3-31-2025. Today is 61 days for the 1st one, but no unlock, so what do I need to do? I just found out that the policy has changed to 60 days of continuous active service. Is this correct? I got only 1 month of service on both. I also heard about a $10 plan for unlimited talk & text for 30 days. Please guide me what to do to get my phones unlock.

Update: My 1st Moto Edge 2024 got unlocked automatically today 5/28/25. One more Edge and two Samsung A35's to be unlocked by 6/10/25.

I guess I have to do the same thing by paying $10 to see what happens. I activated 1 on 3-28-2025 and today still no unlock.

You should be fine for both. They seem to apply the new rules to devices activated around/after April 5th, everything before slides through under the old policy.
